PostHeaderIcon Mercedes-Benz G-Class G500 by Brabus

The Mercedes G500 is the latest Mercedes model to get the Brabus treatment. Ok, so that’s not really saying a lot, but in the past week, the German tuner has gone into overdrive, releasing one Mercedes tuning program after another. The Mercedes-Benz E 63 S and the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S already got their turns. Now, it’s the G500’s time in the spotlight, and in true Brabus fashion, the aftermarket prescription is exactly what the doctor ordered.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S by Brabus

Almost every year Brabus prepares a comprehensive set of improvements for a number of Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG vehicles. They usually present them at the Auto Shows in Geneva, Paris, or Frankfurt. This year, with the Paris Motor Show nearing, Brabus revealed its new Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S. It is a small compact crossover with an insane 4.0-liter engine, now tricked out by Brabus. This car seems to be as close to contradictions as humanly possible. It is a family crossover (sensible at that), but with such a monstrosity under the bonnet, you’d feel threatened by it even if you drove in a Ferrari F430.

The Brabus Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S basically represents everything that is bad with the car market today, and then it represents everything that is awesome as well.

You know what? I don’t care if you have all the hate in the world for the SUV/Crossovers or whatever. This thing is awesome, and you will learn why here.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus 125R

I don’t know why, but there is something majestic when it comes to tiny cars powered by powerful engines. Yup; that 400+ horsepower Cygnet is awesome, but I am thinking something more civilized. Even with less than 100 horsepower, cars like the Toyota iQ, or anything from Smart are simply a lot of fun. This time around, Brabus created a rather special 125R based around the Smart ForTwo Convertible and called it the “Pocket Rocket.” Well, it is the pocket rocket considering that the German tuning company dialed up the 0.9-liter turbocharged engine, improved its suspension, and put a special makeup on a tiny car.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus E700

In the event that you’re unhinged enough to think that the Mercedes-AMG E 63 is still in need of more power, there’s a certain German tuner that knows a thing or two about giving you what you want. We all know what Brabus is capable of. The company has established itself as one of the pre-eminent Mercedes tuners of the world. It has a long list of Mercedes and AMG models that have been worked on and turned into machines of fortune. The 2018 Mercedes E-Class is one of the latest models to get included in that list, and it’s packing a wallop with 700 horsepower at its disposal.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus Once Again Proves It’s The King Of Mercedes-AMG Tuning

Unless we’re in for a surprise in the next coming days, it looks like the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will only have one major aftermarket tuning company in attendance. It’s a little bit of a surprise, but then again, the tuner that did show up is Brabus, and we all know its place in the tuning hierarchy. Suffice to say, it’s the go-to tuner for Mercedes-Benz models. This week Brabus showed solidified this with not one, not two, but three different programs for three different Mercedes-AMG models, all of which, mind you, received insane levels of power and performance, among other things.

These are the kinds of things that we can expect from Brabus. As a matter of fact, these are the kinds of things that we’ve already expected out of the tuner. I’ve already detailed my thoughts about the Rocket 900 program for the AMG S 65 Cabrio and the 700 kit for the AMG E 63 S last week. But guess what; Brabus wasn’t done. Rather, it followed those two major reveals with another program, the 900PS, for the AMG G 65 V12. All that and the tuner even had the time to build and develop a concept for smart called the Ultimate E Concept and had one of its sub-brands – Startech – come up with an aero kit for the Land Rover Discovery. Those two aside, the three Mercedes-AMG tuning kits are prime examples of why everyone regards Brabus as one of the best tuners in the game today. It may be far from being the only one, but rest assured, if there’s somebody out there with a Mercedes or a Mercedes-AMG in his garage that’s dying to get some aftermarket tuning love, Brabus should be one of the first, if not the first, tuners he should call.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus Ultimate E Concept

In the 23 years that it’s been around, Smart has become a staple in urban cities, fulfilling its mission of being a purveyor of affordable compact cars. But like most car brands, Smart has a sporty and aggressive alter ego, though one that we rarely get to see. It just so happened that one such example was presented at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show by noted tuner Brabus. It’s called the Brabus Ultimate E Concept, and it’s an absolute humdinger.

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking. “It’s a Smart ForTwo. ‘Humdinger’ isn’t exactly the kind of word I’d use to describe it.” You’d be right about that, but you’d also be wrong in assuming that the Ultimate E Concept is nothing more than a dressed up ForTwo wearing a Brabus kit. It’s way more than what it appears to be, and we have Brabus and its partner-in-crime in this project, Kreisel Electric, to thank for that. This concept – it really shouldn’t be a concept – represents the pinnacle of what the Smart ForTwo can become if it adopts new technologies and embraces its inner id in the process. Think a 200-horsepower Smart ForTwo is still the stuff of dreams and fantasies? Think again. Smart has come a long way since it started in 1994. I can’t tell for certain if the Brabus Ultimate E Concept is the future, but if it is, then that future just became mighty exciting.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus Goes Electric With The Ultimate E Concept

You know the electric revolution in the auto industry is looking more and more like a real thing when aftermarket tuners, usually the last defenders of traditional gas-powered engines, start to slowly embrace the prospect of tuning electric cars. Brabus isn’t quite there yet, but one of its offerings for the Frankfurt Motor Show points exactly to that kind of future. The model is called the Brabus Ultimate E Concept, and while it does take its roots from the smart ForTwo, this creation is more about what the tuner can do moving forward more than it is a showcase of smart’s expanding portfolio.

To be fair, there are a number of interesting items in the Ultimate E Concept. It’s all dressed up in a swath of fancy aero bits, making it look a lot more dynamic than a run-of-the-mill ForTwo. It even has an eye-catching yellow paint that a Mercedes-AMG GT R would be proud to wear. The real highlight of the concept though is its drivetrain. Don’t go looking for a combustion engine in there because it’s long gone. In its place is a full electric powertrain that Brabus developed in collaboration with Kreisel Electric. The result is a car that can produce 201 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the most powerful versions of the smart ForTwo in the world. For a car that’s never been considered exciting, the Brabus’ Ultimate E Concept looks to be one way to inject some life into the little ride.

Days after introducing the new Brabus Rocket 900 for the AMG S 65 Cabriolet, Brabus is getting into the tuning spirit with yet another aftermarket program, this time for the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S. This new kit doesn’t exactly approach the insane levels of the Rocket 900, but make no mistake, with 691 horsepower on tap, don’t think that this AMG E 63 S can’t leave other cars in the dust.

Even better, the German tuner’s program is available for all variants of the AMG E 63. That means that owners of sedan and wagon variants of the AMG E 63 can avail of the Brabus 700 kit, and should they do so, they stand to receive more than just a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit. The whole program also features an aerodynamic kit, a new set of wheels, and enough personalization options for the interior that helps bring out a unique identity to each and every customer who gets the kit. It is fitting that Brabus is presenting the 700 program for the AMG E 63 S at the Frankfurt Motor Show, considered as one of the biggest auto shows in the world. A lot of eyes will be on the tuner to showcase its latest wares. Hardly a surprise then that Brabus is bringing its A-game to the event.

15 Jahre smart BRABUS

Fifteen years ago smart, a city car maker with a pathological hatred of capital letters, hooked up with Brabus in a 50-50 partnership so that they might make their cars cool and desirable. Now they are celebrating staying with each other this long with a special limited edition called Smart Brabus ForTwo 15th Anniversary.

Designed to showcase what Brabus treatments can do for smart cars, the Smart Brabus ForTwo 15th Anniversary claims to be a sportscar for the city. That is a bold claim and they certainly can’t be using the term sportscar to describe this model in the sense that it’s fast since it comes with a 52 kW (70 hp) motor in the hottest version. But we have to say the unique looks and the exclusive interior appointments featuring leather and carbon fibrer do give this ForTwo a certain flair that makes it a cool urban runabout.

No, no, don’t be alarmed. These Brabus smart fortwo and forfour models aren’t actually disturbing London at all. They’re too small for that. These are the latest special, limited versions of the city car built in collaboration with Brabus and Disturbing London apparel and entertainment brand.

And they are pretty cool. I mean, at Brabus smart fortwo and forfour Disturbing London editions have got to be the manliest versions of this car ever. They come with black paint with rose gold exterior and interior detailing, so they are actually like those designer products so popular these days among metrosexual men. OK, it loses one of its man cards there.

Brabus smart fortwo and forfour Disturbing London come with a 90 hp turbocharged petrol engine and six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard. BRABUS detailing, rear parking sensors and the Premium equipment line are all standard. The Premium equipment line includes smart media package; height-adjustable steering wheel and driver’s seat; and electrically-adjustable exterior mirrors. Disturbing London is a 360 entertainment company founded by Dumi Oburota and Tinie Tempah, so it sort of has celebrity endorsement going for it.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus G500 4×4² Interior Package by Carlex Design

Brabus G500 4x4

Turns there is a way to make the Brabus G500 4×4² even more special. The super SUV, as you know, is based on the limited edition Mercedes G500 4×4², already a unique and rare thing in it own right, to which Brabus adds a whole bunch of cool extras. Now Carlex Design has got hold of the big G and they have fitted it with an equally impressive interior.

Not that standard interior of the G-Squared is shabby or anything, but it does look a lot like all the other variants of the G-Class. Now in the Brabus G500 4×4² you do get some nicer leather and more carbon fiber, but it’s not really all that different from stock. That is where Carlex steps in with a unique, and surprisingly dark, theme and give the inside of this car as much as attitude as its outside. They have utilized the yellow shade of the exterior as garnish for the mainly black interior and the end result is pretty special.

There is in Carlex Design Brabus G500 4×4² more Alcantara suede than we have seen in pretty much any other car. From the seats to the headliner to pillars, door cards, consoles, arm rests, dashboard even, and also the steering wheel, wherever you turn you see the stuff. Here it’s garnished with some yellow trim piece, there with some carbon fiber, and some other place with contrast stitching shaped into a cool and intricate pattern. You would be hard pressed to find a more moody interior for this car than what Carlex has managed.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes GLS-Class "850 XL" by Brabus

As the full-sized SUV in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup, there’s a lot of pressure on the GLS to appeal to a wide range of customers, ranging from the off-road types to those who have big families. The multi-purpose function of the GLS-Class extends to the tuning world where aftermarket tuners like Brabus determine a specific course of action on how to best approach the SUVs capabilities. For its part, Brabus did what it does best by giving the GLS an engine upgrade of a lifetime that ends with the SUV’s biturbo V-8 engine netting a 838 horsepower and 1,069 pound-feet of torque.

Those power figures are the unquestioned highlight of the program and is the biggest reason why the program is called the “850 XL.” But there’s more to this kit than the massive engine upgrade. It also features a comprehensive wide body aero kit, a new set of 23-inch wheels, and modifications to the interior that really spruces up the life between those doors.

It is an extensive kit and it’s indicative of what Brabus is capable of when it goes all-out on a tuning program. Some tuners exaggerate their tuning kits with names dripping in hyperbole. Brabus has no need for that because its works, both past and present, resoundingly speak for themselves. In the case of the 850 XL kit for the GLS, Brabus has once again developed a tuning program that deserves its own holler.

Brabus Mercedes-AMG GT-0

We have seen Brabus Mercedes AMG GT 600 on a number of occasions, the latest being the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Now the tuner has released photos of a new AMG GT S they’ve finished, and it is by far the coolest example so far. The thing’s full of wonderful little details.

At first glance you may not notice many differences between this Brabus Mercedes AMG GT and the other models you’ve seen before. But when you get up close with it, you notice the exquisite carbon fiber details in the bumpers and side strakes, the rear diffuser, the cool new rear wing, and those magnificent carbon tailpipes.

Another highlight of this car is the set of ultra-light BRABUS Monoblock F forged wheels it features along with sport suspension, giving the car a great stance and improved handling. Also sporty in this car is the exhaust system which combined with the PowerXtra B40 power module results in a boost in power from 510 to 600 horsepower with 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Performance-wise, the car does 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 325 km/h (201 mph).

But the best thing about this particular Brabus Mercedes AMG GT, for our money, is the interior. Besides all the usual good stuff – like all the gadgets, glass roof, and spot-on driving position – this car benefits from sumptuous blue leather upholstery and accents, sport pedals, and illuminated Brabus side sills as well as branded floor mats.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus Mercedes GLE 63 AMG B63S

Brabus Mercedes GLE-0

One of the finest tuner cars we admittedly missed altogether at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 was the awesome Brabus Mercedes GLE 63 AMG, boasting a performance as well as a visual package tailored for the new SUV. Brabus’s GLE (new M-Class) is internally called B63S and it features a 700 performance kit.

Those with a good knowledge of what’s going on in the world of tuning know that a 700 power kit by Brbaus means the car in question has 700 horsepower. In the case of Brabus Mercedes GLE 63 AMG the modifications that have resulted in this massive power gain include larger turbochargers with more boost, high-performance intake and charge-air pipes, BRABUS Gold Heat Reflection sheathing, engine mapping, and exhaust system featuring free-flow metal catalysts and down pipes with a diameter of 75 millimeters, among other changes.

The net result of all this is 700 PS and 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) of peak torque, which translates into a 0-100 km/h time of 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). If that’s not enough Brabus also offers an 850 horsepower package which drops the 0-100 time to 3.8 seconds and ups the top speed to 320 km/h.

Besides the power upgrade, Brabus Mercedes GLE 63 AMG also gets a, as always, cool and understated aero kit consisting of front spoiler lip, side air intake, tailor-made air deflectors with integrated LED side markers, naked carbon components, rear diffuser insert, and a roof spoiler. The kit is then complemented with a set of 21, 22 and even 23 inch wheels. Brbaus recommendation for this vehicle is 11×23 “PLATINUM EDITION” monoblock rims, plus modified AIRMATIC air suspension which drops the ride height by 35 mm.

Last but not least, the B63S gets an exclusive interior treatment with leather, carbon, wood, aluminum, or pretty much anything that takes your fancy. The treatment also includes aluminum door-lock pins and pedals as well as stainless-steel scuff plates, illuminated, of course.

Pitched as the ultimate super sport, super luxury saloon car, the Brabus Maybach Rocket 900 costs about half a million dollars.

The heart of the Brabus Maybach Rocket 900 is an increased-displacement 6.3 V12 twin-turbo which develops 900 HP (887 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft). The powertrain gives this road going private jet a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) while 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is dealt with in just 3.7 seconds.

With the kind of performance Brabus Maybach Rocket 900 delivers, major structural upgrades were in order. PostHeaderIcon Brabus Mercedes G63 850 Widestar Unveiled at GMS

Brabus G63 850 Widestar-0

Brabus’s booth at this year’s Geneva Motor Show is a horsepower pleasure house. After introducing the Rocket 900 S65 Coupe, they have now unveiled at the show the Brabus Mercedes G63 850 Widestar, a new and even more insane take on the high-performance SUV.

The heart of Brabus Mercedes G63 850 is a heavily revised, increased-displacement version of AMG’s 5.5 liter biturbo V8. The unit is upped to 6.0 liter capacity by Brabus and fitted with all sorts of high-performance components, such as eight forged pistons with a diameter of 99 millimeters, precision-balanced billet crankshaft with a stroke of 96 millimeters, larger turbos, modified exhaust, special “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing for the air pipes, and…

The result of all that is 850 HP (838 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft), delivered to the ground via 23-inch BRABUS “PLATINUM EDITION” Monoblock Y forged wheels supported by Dynamic Ride Control suspension. This arrangement enables the Brabus Mercedes G63 850 Widestar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 260 km/h (162 mph).

But performance is not the primary factor in many people’s minds when they think about buying this half a million Euro monster. The biggest attraction of a Widestar Brabus G-Class is the say it looks, what with the sport bumpers and hood and fender flares, not to mention the custom iBusiness interior. It’s all about the invincible feel of the thing.

Brabus S65 AMG Coupe Rocket-0

The opening night of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show is seeing the debut of some seriously high-powered machines. We’ve looked at the Pagani Huayra BC and the new Bugatti Chiron, now let’s check out the new Rocket 900 version of Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe.

This car belongs to a class of its own since you can’t really categorize it with any other thing. It is supposed to be a luxury coupe, and it is, but then how many luxury coupe you now that boast a 6.3 V12 twin-turbo engine with 900 HP (887 bhp) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque, and can do 350 km/h (217 mph)? That is hyper car performance in a car as lavishly equipped as the Presidential suite in a five-star hotel.

The increased displacement engine in the Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Rocket features high-end elements such as carbon air boxes, special filters and exhaust, and pressure pipes wrapped in “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing. It is mated to a high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent and seven-speed automatic transmission with Race mode, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds.

Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Rocket also comes with a discreet but aerodynamically efficient styling kit with custom bumpers and sills, uprated brakes and suspension, Brabus Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch forged wheels , and a custom interior with umbra-colored precious-wood inlays, leather upholstery, and “fire” piping.

The notion that the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S is merely an ordinary car is wrong on so many levels. By itself, the performance sedan already packs quite a punch to the tune of 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. But that’s just all Mercedes. So what happens to the AMG C 63 S when the noted Mercedes tuner enters the picture? Well, all hell breaks loose.

On one hand, the results are to be expected. There’s more carbon fiber, more power, and a whole lot more details thrown in for good measure. It even has a new feature called “Coming Home,” which I’ll expound on after the jump. Rest assured, everything about this program is top-class. That’s the kind of reputation Brabus has built over the years and there’s no reason to expect anything less.

This Brabus-tuned C 63 AMG will make its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The event kicks off on March 3, 2016, but as early as now, I already know that a lot of people will be crowding the German tuner’s booth to take a close look at this beautiful AMG C 63 S.

Brabus Mercedes C63 AMG 650-0

While Mercedes-Benz will be introducing a diet version of the C63 at the Geneva Motor Show in form of the Mercedes-AMG C43, it falls to Brabus to pick up where they left and come up with an even more powerful version of the standard car. This is Brabus Mercedes C63 AMG 650 and it packs, you guessed it, 650 hp.

That is precisely 103 kW / 140 HP (138 bhp) more than what you get from the standard C63 AMG, and it’s the result of a BRABUS PowerXtra B40S plus a fully stainless-steel exhaust with actively controlled butterfly valves. The 650 horsepower and 820 Nm output of the Brabus Mercedes C63 AMG 650 enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h.

In order for Brabus Mercedes C63 AMG 650 to match the excitement delivered by its powertrain in terms of design, the tuner has come up with a carbon fiber aero kit with revised bumpers and carefully engineered front spoiler and rear diffuser/spoiler combo, as well as sills and wings and grilles. The kit is complemented with a set of 20-inch Monoblock F wheels supported with Bilstein suspension components, but the choice here is yours.

Last but not least, Brabus C63 AMG 650 comes with an interior treatment with mods such as sports seats, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and leather upholstery with contrast stitching and decorative bright yellow leather elements.

Brabus Mercedes G500 SWB-0

A few days ago we showed you what tuner Brabus has in store for the regular, medium-rare Mercedes G500. Now check out Brabus Mercedes G500 SWB, an even cooler version of the G-Wagen based on the short wheel base model.

You don’t see that many two-door, compact SUVs around these days which is why this Brabus Mercedes G500 SWB looks so nice and refreshing. Of course, it’s not just the body style, but also what the tuner has done to improve it. They’ve added a custom front bumper and grille, vented hood, flared wheel arches, running boards, new steel side pipes, an F1 style rear bumper with a diffuser and massive monoblock wheels.

Another great highlight of this Brabus Mercedes G500 SWB is the unique interior treatment featuring a mix of black and red leather and Alcantara, contrast stitching, illuminated door sills, blue ambient lighting system, wooden trims, and stitched leather floor and boot mats. This car also boasts Brabus 6.1 conversion kit which means the V8 engine is upped in capacity and therefore power. You can expect an output of around five hundred horsepower.
