PostHeaderIcon Did Trump's Name and Previous Ownership Condemn this Ferrari F430?

Back in 2007, Donald Trump spent a little bit of cheddar on himself and purchased a 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe. You’ve got to hand it to the man for having good taste, and it could be the only president-owned Ferrari in existence, but when it rolled across the auction block this weekend, it failed to sell, falling $10,000 short of the $250,000 reserve.

All told, it’s a fine example. It’s got that 4.3-liter V-8 with 490 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. It was purchased brand new by Donald Trump, as shown by the original title that has his signature. With just 6,000 miles on the clock and a history of being service by Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island, everything seems as kosher as possible, right? Well, despite the car’s history, being cared for properly, and coming with not only the original title and window sticker, it still rolled off the auction block unsold. Does it prove that even car enthusiasts and collectors hate our newest POTUS?

Maybe not…

See, it rolled off the block unsold, but hours later, it was sold in a private sale for $270,000, as reported by Auctions America. There aren’t any details available at this point outside of that, but it looks like it did find a new home at the last minute.

PostHeaderIcon Richard Hammond Proves Two Wheels Aren't As Good As Four By Falling Over

Look – cars are dangerous. They’re big and heavy and capable of propelling the human body to incredible speeds. However, unlike a motorcycle, cars enclose the driver in a protective cage of metal, and they use four wheels to keep from falling over, making them much, much safer than a motorcycle. Former Top Gear co-host and current The Grand Tour co-host Richard Hammond recently demonstrated this fact by eating a bit of the road while riding his motorcycle during a shoot.

Over on DriveTribe, the social media complement to The Grand Tour, Hammond made a post about the crash entitled “I’ve Checked And I’m Not Dead,” saying, “It’s true, I did fall off a motorbike whilst filming recently for The Grand Tour in Mozambique. I banged my head, yes, along with pretty much everything else apart from my left thumb, which remains un-bruised. Can’t tell you more yet about the how and why of it; that’s all for later in the year on the show. As for injuries; well put it this way, I don’t think I can get a book out of it.”

That last bit is a reference to “On the Edge,” a bestseller Hammond wrote a few years back chronicling the high-speed crash he had in September of 2006 when piloting a jet-powered drag racer at 288 mph. That crash left Hammond in critical condition and put him in the hospital for five weeks, suffering serious brain trauma in the process. And while this more recent incident isn’t quite as severe, it’s still reason for concern.

PostHeaderIcon Pink Floyd's Drummer Crashes His McLaren F1 GTR

This past weekend, the Goodwood Circuit hosted the 75th Members’ Meeting, which brought (as usual) an impressive lineup of classic and more recent race cars to the iconic British track. Unfortunately, this event also saw a highly collectible car leave the track and slam into an outside wall. I’m talking about a McLaren F1 GTR driven by none other than Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.

A fan of historic racing and noted classic car collector, Mason took his F1 GTR for a spin on the Goodwood track and things obviously didn’t work that well. Although the video doesn’t provide clues as to how the GTR slammed into the wall, it’s safe to assume that Mason lost control of the powerful race car and went spinning into the green. It doesn’t appear as if he was driving at high speed, but the damage is pretty extensive, with the front bumper, left fender, and left headlamp needing to be replaced now.

This isn’t necessarily an issue since McLaren still provides parts and even takes care of repair process, but bringing the car back to its original state will be pretty expensive. Especially if the suspension and electronics suffered damage too. Okay, so maybe Mason won’t have trouble paying for the repairs, but it’s still painful to see a rare car like this — only 28 were built — take damage. On the other hand, it’s actually good to see that Mason’s F1 GTR gets some track action instead of spending its life in a garage.

Mason, who recently turned 73, is a big classic and race car enthusiast, most known for owning various Ferraris. His collection includes one of the 39 Ferrari GTOs, an Enzo, and a 512S race car, among others.

PostHeaderIcon Presidents' Day Special – What Would The Commander-In-Chief Drive?

We here at TopSpeed will take any and every opportunity we can to celebrate the glorious amazing awesomeness that is the automobile. But Presidents’ Day is kinda tricky – after all, the Commander-in-chief doesn’t drive, he’s driven, right? But that got us thinking – what if a select number of U.S. presidents (both past and present) did drive? What would be their chariot of choice? What four-wheeled machine would accurately reflect their policies, their demeanor, their legacy? These are all very important questions, and we think we’ve got the answers right here in the following special holiday list.

Of course, we couldn’t give a spot to all 44 men to ever hold the highest office in the land, so instead, we went with just five. Most are relatively recent, but we couldn’t resist adding in a bit of a throwback as well.

So read on, and don’t hesitate to let us know your thoughts on which car you think the president (any president) would drive.

PostHeaderIcon Arnold Schwarzenegger Goes Terminator on Climate Change; Gets Custom, All-Electric Mercedes G-Class

If you look back in the archives, you’ll find a story we brought you back in September of 2016 about a small startup known as Kreisel Electric that was in the business of developing advanced lithium-ion batteries have completely preserved cells, and thus a higher capacity which ultimately leads to increased range. The company has built a number of custom-made electric conversions with one of the most notable being the Porsche Panamera. But, the company has been very busy since we last mentioned it, and has put together a custom all-electric Mercedes G-Class for none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger himself! That’s right; the man that once owned a fleet of Hummers has decided to fully embrace his new stance on protecting his environment by adding the big, off road, and all electric one-off to his own personal collection.

The vehicle was first unveiled my Kreisel Electric and Arnold at the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzebuehel in January where Arnold not only learned about his new G-Class and took delivery but also took it out for a quick drive in the snow. During the official announcement, Schwarzenegger said, “To me, with the electric version of this fantastic car, a dream has become true. The initial test drive was a real pleasure: The Kreisel is incredibly sporty and perfectly benefits from the advantages e-mobility has to offer. I really look forward to the following test runs and to the gradual further development in California.”

As you can make out from his quote above, he’ll be conducting further testing and providing feedback to Kreisel Electric for some time to come. What’s really more important, though, is what makes this electric conversion so special. See, using an existing chassis and body that wasn’t designed for an all-electric powertrain is a real challenge, but Kreisel Electric’s technology makes it quite a bit easier. By removing the engine and gas tank, the company is able to place the required battery packs and electric motors while preserving the same general weight distribution. In this specific case, that conversion results in a G-Class SUV with 483 all-electric horsepower and a top speed of 133 mph. It is said to achieve 62 mph in as fast as 5.6 seconds, three seconds faster than the standard model, and has a range of about 190 miles.

But, there’s more to this story, so let’s move on down the page.

PostHeaderIcon Sir Stirling Moss Stable In Singapore Hospital After Chest Infection

Formula One legend Sir Stirling Moss is reportedly in stable condition after being rushed in a Singapore hospital because of a serious chest infection. According to a post on website, Moss was in Southeast Asian country in the days before Christmas when he was admitted because the infection resulted in some complications, which prevented the speediness of his recovery.

Fortunately, Moss’ condition has improved to the point that “his doctors now consider him to be in stable condition.”

The knighted Formula One racer is universally considered as the greatest Formula One driver to not have won a driver’s championship. In a career that lasted 67 races (66 starts) over a 10-year period, Moss won 16 races, finished in the podium 24 times, started from pole position 16 times, and set the fastest lap 19 times. Despite his success, Moss never won a driver’s title, finishing second four times in his career, and third another three times.

In addition to his Formula One exploits, Moss is also best known for his competitive longevity. The iconic racer, now 87 years old, only retired from motor racing in 2011 when he was 81.

At the end of the day, it’s great to hear that Moss is in good spirits after his recent health scare with the site saying that the only thing he was upset about was missing his “Christmas cruise with his friends.”

PostHeaderIcon Koenigsegg Employee Renders A Tribute Regera For Late Music Icon

If you’re an artist as universally loved as the late Prince, your influence usually extends long past your death. Well, the man behind the song “Purple Rain” died on April 21, 2016 and apparently, someone over at Koenigsegg is such a big fan that he decided to dress up the 1,500-horsepower Koenigsegg Regera in a special purple carbon exterior finish mixed in with white striping and clear carbon side intakes.

The man behind creating the Prince-inspired Regera is Steven Wade, a copywriter at the Swedish automaker who also happens to be a big fan of the departed music icon. Whereas his job description with the company calls for him to be good with his words, Wade is also apparently pretty good at dressing up the Regera. In his own words, he describes his creation as an ode to the man whose death almost a year ago still has him in mourning and the fact that he thinks that Koenigseggs look absolutely sexy “in purple.” Hard to argue against that sentiment.

Wade did admit that he toyed with the idea of doing a purple-and-gold two-tone scheme, but ultimately decided against it, presumably because purple and white just fit Prince’s character much better. His work on the Regera even extends to the car’s interior where the whole cabin was dressed in “snow white” leather to go with a basket weave seat pattern. He also did point out that while the rendering shows blue contrast stitching, the actual Regera – if Koenigsegg does end up making one – will have the purple stitching.

Regardless of his motivations in rendering the Regera in honor of Prince, the result is actually pretty spectacular. Maybe Koenigsegg boss Christian von Koenigsegg should take a look at his copywriter’s work here and reevaluate his position in the company. Copywriter/designer seems a more apt job title for Wade, doesn’t it?

PostHeaderIcon What Would Darth Vader Drive?

Finally, it’s almost here – Rogue One, the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise, hits theaters this Friday, giving all us Force Nerds a fresh opportunity to dive headlong back into the universe of Jedi heroes, evil Sith Lords, space combat, and lots of good ‘ole fashioned pew pew. Personally, I cannot wait to see it, especially with the return of one of the greatest villains in the history of cinema – Darth Vader. I mean, come on… the mask, the gnarly black armor, the way he’ll choke you out with his freakin’ mind… which got us thinking – if Darth Vader was a gear head, what would he drive?

Of course, when you’ve got the kind of pull that Vader enjoys, being the number two in a Galactic Empire and all, you shouldn’t limit yourself when it comes to personal transport. So with that in mind, we put together a short list of some of the four-wheeled machines that would complement a light saber-wielding cyborg death dealer bent on dominating entire star systems.

Speed, presence, ruthlessness… these are the characteristics we were looking for. Each entry has a bit of the Dark Side infused in the sheet metal, plus enough power under the hood to destroy an entire planet. These are the automotive technological terrors that would do Palpatine proud.

So climb outta that hyperbaric chamber you were meditating in, and read on.

PostHeaderIcon The Heir To The Fiat Fortune Acts Naughty, Gets Arrested

Lapo Elkann is known in automotive circles as the grandson of the late Fiat patriarch Gianni Agnelli and the heir to the Fiat fortune. But he’s also known to be a flamboyant character who almost died in 2005 due to a drug overdose. So it comes as no surprise that when Elkann makes the headlines, it’s probably for something that only somebody of his personality could even think of, let alone actually do. Can we consider faking his own kidnapping as something Elkann is capable of doing? Apparently so because it’s been reported that Elkann was arrested and charged in New York for exactly that reason.

According to multiple reports which quote anonymous police sources, Elkann was suspected of faking his own kidnapping in New York because he ran out of cash after throwing a two-night party-palooza to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The Daily Beast, in particular, reported that Elkann flew to New York during the holidays and proceeded to have the time of his life with a male escort. The same source quoted by The Daily Beast alleges that Elkann and his buddy consumed alcohol and drugs until they ran out of cash, at which point the 39-year old contacted his family claiming to have been kidnapped and that the perpetrators were asking for $10,000 in ransom money. The family proceeded to contact the New York Police Department, which in turn, launched an investigation into the matter, only to discover that Elkann himself was allegedly behind the whole thing after he and his partner went to collect the ransom money.

Elkann and his companion were arrested during the NYPD’s sting operation with the Fiat heir being charged with filing a false police report. According to the NYPD, the escort’s arrest has since been voided and sealed, which likely means that Elkann will be facing these charges all by his lonesome, at least if it hasn’t been settled already.

PostHeaderIcon It Took Justin Bieber Three Weeks to Find his Misplaced Blue Ferrari 458

If you’re somebody like Justin Bieber, your life is probably hectic enough as it is. But to misplace your car after a night out on the town? Clearly, that doesn’t happen to anyone, right? Right? Wrong, because somehow, it happened to the Canadian pop star, who, according to multiple reports, lost his customized neon blue Ferrari 458 Italia when he forgot where he parked the car. It’s a case that will make the Hardy Boys proud.

Fortunately, the car has since been found, but only after an assistant took three weeks to track it down at the parking garage of the upscale Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills where Beiber left it in the care of valets before hitting the Hollywood club scene.

“She was in a real state of panic and almost cried with relief when we told her the Ferrari was safe in a covered spot here,” a member of the hotel’s valet team told the Daily Star. “Celebrities will leave one of their vehicles with us in between stays so it’s ready for them to use as soon as they check-in. We all assumed Justin had done that.”

According to the British newspaper, the Biebs parked the 458 Italia and proceeded to forget where he left it once his night of revelry was done. Not that it matters now, but Bieber must have had a lot of fun during that night out for him to completely forget where he left a car that costs $240,000.

Then again, it’s not like Bieber’s going to miss out on losing a Ferrari, especially when you consider that he’s worth $200 million to begin with. For him, replacing a Ferrari is the equivalent of us replacing a light bulb so unless that 458 Italia has some sentimental value to him, he probably could’ve bought one – or 10 – the next day. Besides, the 22-year-old has his own Ferrari LaFerrari, which is five times more expensive than the 458 Italia, not to mention a steady stream of Lamborghinis, an Audi R8, a Porsche 911 Turbo, a chromed up Fisker Karma, and whatever other cars he has in his garage.

All’s well that ends well though because the neon blue Ferrari 458 Italia found its way back to its owner. Maybe next time the Biebs can leave the Ferrari at home and just hail an Uber or Lyft the next time he goes out to paint the town red. And since he’s in California, he might have an option of having his future autonomous cars drive him to his hotspots and just come pick him up when he’s had too much fun again. Autonomous driving, Justin! That’s the future!

PostHeaderIcon The Grand Tour: What We Found Out From The Pilot Episode

Finally, the day arrived. The Grand Tour finally aired its pilot episode and it was definitely good to get Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond back into our lives. That’s the short version of it. The longer version is a little bit more complex since we’re not just going to talk about the return of the trio, but how they returned and most importantly, how they fared in their comeback.

The first episode of The Grand Tour had it all, and by all, I mean it had all of the elements from their old show Top Gear, right down to set pieces, the irreverent humor, the test driver, and the celebrity guests. Most of all, there were the cars and the first show devoted a significant part of its time showcasing the most exotic of exotics, specifically the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1, and Ferrari LaFerrari.

For a car that’s billed as a motoring show – even though it’s a variety show more than anything else – The Grand Tour got off on the right foot by shining the spotlight on what they called “the holy trinity.” The three hypercars dominated the show, but they were also far from the only highlights, or in some cases, lowlights of The Grand Tour’s S01E01.

We’ll dive through most of them after the jump, but let’s get started with how Clarkson, May, and Hammond navigated around the new show, alternating between introducing new segments, taking shots at one other like they always do, and even getting into a faux riot, all for the love of the British Royal Air Force.

The first episode of The Grand Tour lived up to its billing in some respects, but it also felt like we were still watching Top Gear, minus that tame racing driver.

PostHeaderIcon Will Fast 8 be Oscar Worthy? Vin Diesel Thinks So

I think we can all agree that the Fast & Furious movie franchise has given us a good amount of thrills in its lifespan. We’ve seen awesome cars, beautiful people, amazing fight scenes, and the whole gang jumping out of a plane in cars, surviving the fall with no scratches to their beautiful faces. But we can also agree that not one of the seven F&F movies have ever been considered Oscar-worthy. That could change with Fast 8 as Vin Diesel has come out and said that the eighth installment of the blockbuster movie franchise may surprise a lot of people, even going so far as to hint of a possible Oscar buzz surrounding it.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Diesel said that he actually thinks that Fast 8 will win an Oscar on the back of what director F. Gary Gray was able to piece together to make the movie. “I think he went into making this movie with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, going ’Oh, really? Okay,” Diesel was quoted as saying. “Now I’m going to take the biggest saga in the world, and I’m about to throw Oscars at you.”

Diesel is likely referring to the Oscar snub on Gray and his movie, Straight Outta Compton, which missed out on an Oscar despite being one of the most critically acclaimed movies entering the competition. Is Fast 8 going to be Gray’s Oscar redemption? That’s highly unlikely if you base it on the franchise’s history, but stranger things have happened. Remember when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan, arguably the greatest war movie of all time, for Best Picture?

Keep the hope alive, Vin!

PostHeaderIcon Floyd Mayweather Jr. Gets First Dibs On New Koge57 Supercar

Say what you will about Floyd Mayweather Jr’s history as a professional prizefighter, but the man can never be accused of not having any taste any cars. Money May once again flaunted that taste for all the world to see when he became the first customer to place an order for the just-unveiled Kode57 supercar.

Multiple reports have indicated that Mayweather signed up to purchase the $2.5 million supercar shortly after the car made its debut over the weekend at the Quail Motorsports Gathering as part of the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance. Obi Okeke, Floyd’s personal supercar dealer, confirmed to TMZ about the prized acquisition, adding that the Kode57 has been on the retired boxer’s radar for quite some time now and is keen on adding it to his growing collection of exotics. Okeke also said that the Ken Okuyama-designed supercar will only come in five examples, although the company itself has yet to confirm the statement.

In any case, the Kode57 was one of the most talked-about debuts at the Quail, largely because of the involvement of Okuyama, who is known for his time with Pininfarina, where he penned cars like the Ferrari Enzo, Maserati Quattroporte, and the 2000 Ferrari Rossa Concept, a car many believe was the design inspiration of the Kode57. The open-top roadster is powered by a Novitec Ross-tuned 6.0-liter V-12 engine that cracks out 612 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque.

The $2.5 million price tag may look steep given that the car “only” produces 612 horsepower, but for a man of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s taste and bottomless pockets, such a purchase can be considered a drop in the bucket. You keep being you, Money May.

PostHeaderIcon Ghia L6.4

The Ghia L6.4 was just about as exclusive as you could get in the 1960s, as it was designed and built only for actors and other high rollers in Hollywood. The final of the 26 Ghia L6.4s ever built was built for one of the largest stars of that era, Dean Martin. Martin was not the only Rat Pack member to own a L6.4, as Frank Sinatra also owned one, as did other Rat Pack members.

Recently, one of the 26 Ghia L6.4s built, the one owned by Dean Martin, was put up for auction on eBay as Hyman Ltd. got its hands on Martin’s old L6.4. For a car of its age, the modern features are plentiful, but it still wasn’t enough for Dean Martin, as he shipped the car off to George Barris, “Hollywood’s King of the Kustomizers,” to have even more customizations performed on this already rare vehicle. This customization turned Martin’s L6.4 into a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

PostHeaderIcon Parents Of Late Star Trek Star Files Lawsuit Against Fiat Chrysler

The parents of actor Anton Yelchin are planning to take legal action against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles over the death of their 27-year old son on June 19, 2016. According to the Associated Press, an attorney who represents the Yelchin’s parents announced their plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the automaker, which they hold responsible for releasing a vehicle – a Jeep Grand Cherokee – that had a confusing shifter design that led to some cars to roll away by themselves.

Yelchin’s family believes that the actor’s Grand Cherokee was one of the affected models and the problem manifested itself at the worst possible time when it rolled down his driveway and pinned him against a brick pillar and security fence. Yelchin died on the scene from traumatic injuries sustained from the horrible episode.

A coroner ruled the actor’s death an accident, but that apparently isn’t stopping his parents from taking FCA to court on the grounds that it made a defective vehicle that caused their son’s death. If it is determined that the confusing gear shifter design played a role in the actor’s untimely passing, it would become the first incident of someone dying because of the defect. That said, a government investigation revealed that there have been 268 documented crashes because of the gear shifters and 68 people have been injured because of it as of June 2016.

For its part, FCA has sent out its condolences to Yelchin’s family, but so far has refused to comment on the planned lawsuit.

Update: During a press conference on August 2, 2016, the lawyer of Yelchin’s parents claims that a recall notice was sent to Yelchin seven days after his untimely death.

PostHeaderIcon Matt LeBlanc Has A New Ride And It's Smoking Tires Hot

Despite all the mess that Top Gear found itself in during the ill-fated season-that-just-finished, Matt LeBlanc’s performance as Chris Evans’ co-host was one of the show’s few bright spots. For a man who was once known for his preference in being driven than him doing the actual driving, LeBlanc’s time at Top Gear seems to have satiated his appetite for performance cars, a belief that has been reinforced by a recent photo of the actor-turned-motoring-show-host showing off his new Ford Focus RS.

The photo of LeBlanc looking like a proud new dad to his Focus RS was actually uploaded by Ken Block, who complemented LeBlanc’s choice for a new ride in the most Ken Block way imaginable. Yep, as if the fact that LeBlanc is the new owner of the fantastic Focus RS isn’t interesting enough, Block had to point out the Focus RS’s Hooligan-themed license plate case in what could arguably be one of the most obvious celebrity plugs on Instagram right now.

Be that as it may, LeBlanc’s choice of a Ford Focus RS to be his new ride is an exciting one, especially when you let your imaginations run loose on the things that the former Friends actor is capable of doing on a rather interesting car that belies its incredible power and performance capabilities.

For those who need a refresher, LeBlanc’s new Ford Focus RS comes packed with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that packs an impressive 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. It may not be the fastest and most powerful car that’s available on the market, but for what it’s worth, the Focus RS is arguably one of the most exciting ones to drive, something that LeBlanc appears to be all too excited to find out.

PostHeaderIcon How Would You Like To Join The Cast Of Fast 8 On Set In Atlanta?

Fundraising website Omaze and The Paul Walker Foundation have teamed up to create a contest that’s offering one lucky individual the opportunity to join the cast of Fast 8 on the set of their new movie in Atlanta.

The contest works like a raffle in the sense that interested are required to post donations by spending money to purchase on the number of entries they’d like before a name is drawn on Saturday, July 23. The amount of the donation equates to a specific number of entries, beginning with a $10 donation that comes with 100 entries. The donations can run up to $2,500, which not only gives a donor 25,000 entries in the raffle, but also a signed Fast 6 Ford Escort model car. It’s worth pointing out the two similarly valued $2,500 donations are already sold out. Not surprisingly, all of the prizes attached to a specific donation amount are all inspired by the franchise. For example, a $250 donation comes with 2,500 entries and a Fast & Furious T-shirt and a Furious 7 teaser poster. There’s also a $1,000 donation that comes with 10,000 entries and a signed Furious 7 teaser poster.

Whoever ends up winning the raffle will get the full VIP treatment, beginning with an all-expense paid trip to Atlanta, accommodations at a four-star hotel, and a trip to the set of the film where an inside look at the cars that are being used in film are on the schedule and more importantly, a meet and greet with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Scott Eastwood, and the rest of the movie’s cast.

Ultimately, the whole promotion is aimed at raising awareness for the Paul Walker Foundation, a charity founded by Meadow Walker after the death of his father and franchise cornerstone, Paul Walker.

So if you’re going to spend money to enter, not only are you putting yourself in a position to go behind-the-scenes on the filming of Fast 8, you’re also going to help The Paul Walker Foundation promote ocean and marine-related causes.

PostHeaderIcon Cristiano Ronaldo Buys Bugatti Veyron To Celebrate Euro 2016 Win

It’s been less than a week since the Portuguese national soccer team won Euro 2016 in France, and its main star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is celebrating behind the steering wheel of his brand-new Bugatti Veyron. Also known for his passion for supercars, Ronaldo has recently taken delivery of one of the last Veyrons built. Word has it that Real Madrid’s player paid about £1.7 million (around $2.25 million) for the car. The Portuguese showcased his latest purchase on Instagram and referred to the car as an “animal.”

Ronaldo has now joined a host of sports stars that at some point owned a Veyron, including boxer Floyd Mayweather and Brazilian footballer Roberto Carlos. Also, he is now the proud owner of one of only 450 Veyrons ever built. Being one of the last vehicles to leave the company’s shop, Ronaldo’s example is a Grand Sport, which is Bugatti talk for convertible/targa.

As a reminder, the Veyron Grand Sport uses a quad-turbo, 8.0-liter W-16 engine rated at a whopping 1,184 horsepower. It needs less than three seconds to hit 60 mph from a standing start, while its top speed is an impressive 254 mph.

The new Veyron Grand Sport is just one of Ronaldo’s many cars. The Portuguese player owns several Porsches, Ferraris, and Bentley, as well as a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Maserati GranCabrio. In 2009, he crashed one of his Ferraris in England, but hopefully the Veyron won’t have the same fate.

PostHeaderIcon Paul Walker's Missing Car Collection Is About To Return To His Estate

He who tries to take advantage of another man’s misfortune will eventually get his comeuppance. That’s exactly what happened to Richard Taylor, the man who was accused of “illegally removing” over 30 of Paul Walker’s car collection less than 24 hours after the Fast and Furious star’s untimely death in 2013.

Taylor and Paul Walker’s estate reached a settlement to take back control of a significant portion of the collection after the estate filed a lawsuit against Taylor last year, claiming that he hid the cars and refused to tell Walker’s family where he stowed them as a way to try to extort money from the estate. The lengthy legal battle eventually reached its resolution when the two sides amicably settled, prompting the Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss the lawsuit.

Details of the settlement have been kept confidential, but a lawyer from the Walker family confirmed that one of the agreements between the two sides was the return of the missing cars from the collection back to its owner, or at least in this case, to Walker’s estate.

The settlement brings to an end one of the most surreal episodes that came out after Walker’s tragic death and that the late actor’s missing cars – a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a 2008 BMW M3, a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, a 2004 GMC truck, and three 1995 BMW M3s, are all finding its way home.

PostHeaderIcon Here Are The Behind-The-Scenes Changes In Store For Top Gear

Chris Evans may be gone from Top Gear after one disastrous season, but his exit isn’t the only significant change we should expect to see from the long-running motoring show. Most of these changes won’t be seen in the cameras, but most of them will be just as significant to the way the show is going to be produced moving forward.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the BBC is set to make a lot of behind-the-scenes changes that include the hiring of a new series producer, putting more focus on the scripts, promoting two “junior” presenters, and introducing a regular “celebrity road trip feature.”

These dramatic steps are reportedly being taken in response to the disastrous first season of the Chris Evans era, which fell flat on its face in the eyes of a lot of its dedicated fan base. Evans’ departure was the first domino to fall, but apparently, it won’t be the last.

One of the most significant changes is the search for a new series producer who can “manage their own emotions in the face of pressure,” and “proactively offers constructive feedback to others.” Nobody has been attached to this role yet, but the BBC has already given the creative reins of the show to Alex Renton, the editor of the show from its previous incarnation.

More details are expected to revealed in the coming weeks, and from the looks of things, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody if the show undergoes more changes as it tries to completely distance itself from the ill-fated and short-lived Chris Evans era.
