PostHeaderIcon The Range-Topping Porsche Taycan will Feature a Peculiar Name for an EV

A lot of combustion engine cars on the market are named after their engine specs and characteristics. This has been a long-running tradition, but it has left automakers in a fix when it comes to naming their electric cars. While some have worked their brains and named their electric cars sensibly, Porsche decided to continue with its ICE monikers even for the Taycan. The top-trim Taycan has been named the Taycan Turbo, and we cannot stop laughing.
And, for those of you that are unaware, No – you can not turbocharge and electric car.

PostHeaderIcon American Muscle To Give Away Track-Ready Mustang, F-150 Raptor, and Aluminum Trailer

Ford Mustang and F-150 enthusiasts likely know American Muscle. It’s a huge aftermarket parts supplier with add-on parts ranging from cosmetic bits to full crate engines ready for a project car. Well, the retailer is throwing a huge give-away with one lucky winner taking home a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, an 850-horsepower Mustang, and an aluminum race trailer stocked full of tools and race tires!

At the heart of the package is the highly tuned Mustang. This current-gen car has a Whipple supercharger sitting on its modified 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 that makes 850 horsepower at the crank and just over 725 horsepower at the rear wheels. It comes painted in a custom Tangerine Orange paint with a unique styling package. It rides on upgraded wheels and tires that can be swapped out for the drag slicks and skinnies found on the trailer. All told, this one-off Mustang has more than $30,000 worth of aftermarket parts bolted on.

Towing duties are given to a 2017 F-150 Raptor SuperCab. It comes untouched from the factory in Blue Flame paint with the optional Black Graphics Package. American Muscle didn’t have to do anything to the Raptor’s 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 since it makes an impressive 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The 35-inch-tall BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires and 10-spoke wheels reamain. The Raptor’s 6,000-pound towing capacity should be more than enough to pull the Mustang and aluminum trailer to the track.

Speaking of the trailer, it comes equipped with drag radials for the Mustang’s rear axle and skinnies for the front. It also has a full assortment of tools a race team might need in the pits.

This is perhaps the most comprehensive give-away package we’ve ever seen, so be sure to enter to win. You can enter weekly until November 11, 2016. The winner will be announced on November 25.

PostHeaderIcon Win a Garage Makeover From Dodge

Dodge, in coordination with Contur Cabinet LTF and Swisstrax Corp, is running a promotional contest that will give one person a garage makeover valued at $20,000. While you do have to make some effort to enter, there is no gimmick that requires you to test drive a new vehicle, or even visit a dealership. All you have to do is visit Dodge’s Facebook page and register. Once you’ve registered, make a 60-second video showing off your Dodge and your makeover-needing garage, then uploaded it through Dodge’s Facebook app.

You must register and upload your video by September 21st to qualify for the contest. Your entry will then be judged against all others based on creativity and originality, among other things. The panel of judges will pick five contestants to move on to the final round that starts on October 7th. For the final round, those five videos will be publicly displayed on the Dodge’s Facebook page where everybody will be able to vote once a day for the best video.

The grand prize winner will receive a customizable storage cabinet from Contur Cabinet Ltd and customizable flooring from Swisstrax Flooring. The four remaining finalists will receive a smaller storage cabinet from Contur Cabinet. Those of you who don’t own a Dodge vehicle, but intend to vote will receive one entry into a $500 sweepstakes for every vote (limited to one vote a day.)

PostHeaderIcon Forza Horizon 2 Gets New Porsche Bonus Pack

It’s been only a month since Forza Horizon 2 added the Porsche Expansion Pack, which features 10 of Stuttgart’s best cars, including the 2003 Porsche Carrera GT, 1986-1989 Porsche 959, 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, and the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder, and the racing game franchise is now offering two more vehicles from the German carmaker. For free!

It’s called the Porsche Bonus Pack, and it features two turbocharged models from completely different segments. One is the 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the 611-horsepower beast that was Porsche’s most powerful production car at the time of its launch, while the other one is the 2015 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, one of the world’s quickest SUVs, with a 0-to-60 mph sprint of just over four seconds.

How do you get these awesome cars? All you have to do is look for the “Two Free Porsches!” story on the front page of the Forza Hub app, click that story to open it up and then click the button that will take you to the Porsche offer. From there, you’ll go to the Xbox Store where you can grab your pair of free Porsches. Make sure you hurry though, as the Porsche Bonus Pack is only available until Friday, July 24th.

Getting this free bundle will also unlock three achievements from the Porsche Expansion Pack: Porsche Owners Club, Horse Power, and This Is My Porsche.

PostHeaderIcon Real Racing 3 – Le Mans: Pursuit of Victory Gameplay Trailer: Video

In anticipation of this year’s running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, EA Games and Firemonkeys Studios are releasing a new update for the free-to-play racing game Real Racing 3. Players are now offered the opportunity to park three of the latest prototype racers in their virtual garage, and they won’t even need to dish out their hard-earned (or bought) in-game currency to do so.

It’s called the Pursuit of Victory quest, and this is how it works: from now until the running of the actual 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 14th, players can take up the challenge by racing one of the three available LM P1 vehicles (the Nissan GT-R LM, the Porsche 919 Hybrid, and the Audi R18 e-tron quattro) in a special event in the game. Complete the challenge, and you get to keep the car, no micro-transaction necessary. Complete the challenge again in the remaining two racers, and you get to keep them too.

There will also be a special time trails competition with additional prizes up for grabs.

Adding to the Le Mans hype is a recreation of the 8.47-mile Circuit de la Sarthe, which has been rendered with as much detail as possible.

You can download Real Racing 3 onto a variety of mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Nvidia Shield, and Blackberry 10.

PostHeaderIcon Here's Your Chance to Win a 2015 Mustang GT Designed by Chip Foose

Do you want an 800-horsepower 2015 Ford Mustang by MMD and Chip Foose? Here’s your chance, as American Muscle is giving one away. To enter, just click here and fill out the entry form by August 3rd, 2015.

This MMD- and Foose-designed `Stang has all the goodies you need to make for one hell of a ride. On the outside, it has a front chin spoiler, a hood scoop, rocker panels, quarter-window louvers, a rear spoiler, and side scoops from MMD by Foose. Rolling stock and custom stripes are both provided by Foose.

Inside the cabin, there are custom doorsill plates and headrests created custom by MMD by Foose.

But the engine is where all the real excitement happens, as this Mustang GT features the Bama Supercharger Package, which includes a 2.9-liter Whipple blower. The supercharger combined with a Magnaflow Competition cat-back exhaust system pushs the V-8 to its 800 horses (over 650 horsepower at the wheels).

Sending the power to the rear differential is a carbon-fiber driveshaft, while axle half-shafts rated at 1,400 horsepower get the power to the wheels from there.

With power comes the need for control, and MMD by Foose is happy to oblige with Vogtland Sport lowering springs. According to the fine print, the approximate value of this badass Mustang is $70,000, so even if you don’t want the car, you can likely sell it for a hefty sum.

The typical rules apply: you must be 18 years or older, must be a resident of the U.S. or Canada, etc., etc. You can catch all of the official rules under the entry form at the above link. One neat twist to this sweepstakes is that American Muscle doesn’t limit you to just one entry. You may enter once per week.

PostHeaderIcon Ford Credit Dream Drive Sweepstakes Offers You the Chance to Win a Trip in a 2015 Mustang

It’s not quite the same as winning a Mustang, but Ford Motor Credit Company is offering folks the opportunity to take a long road trip in the 2015 Mustang in its Ford Credit Dream Drive Sweepstakes. On top of that, the winner will also get a nice wad of cash for the trip.

In this giveaway, Ford Motor Credit is offering one Canadian and one American the opportunity to pilot the Mustang along their predetermined route of choice. The winners can choose from six famous routes, including “Route 66” from Arizona to Las Vegas, “Going-to-the-Sun” Road from Glacier National Park to Flathead, Montana, “Pacific Coast Highway” from Monterey to Laguna Beach, California, “Great River Road” from Memphis, Tennessee to New Orleans, Louisiana, “Overseas Highway” from Miami to the Florida Keys, and “Trans-Canada Highway” from Kelowna, British Columbia, to Calgary, Alberta.

Along with getting to whip the Mustang along one of these awesome routes, Ford Motor Credit will also give the winners of the four-day, three-night road trip round-trip airfare and free lodging for you and a guest, a $750 gas card, a $1,500 gift card, a camera, and other “surprises along the way.” The winners also get the opportunity to tailor the trip to their liking, like scheduling a tour at one of the destinations.

If you’re interested, you U.S.-based folks can enter at FordCreditDreamDrive.com and Canadians can enter here.

But hurry. The entry deadline is June 8th.

There is no mention of what 2015 Ford Mustang each winner will pilot, but I would assume that Fordwould put them in either the new Ecoboost model or the range-topping GT. It would be quite the buzzkill to have to pilot around the V-6-powered model.

PostHeaderIcon Royal Purple Is Offering You The Ultimate Pit Lane Experience

Royal Purple has kicked off an exciting new giveaway that will land one lucky race fan behind the pits during a Tudor United SportsCar Championship race. The “Royal Treatment” sweepstakes kicked off on May 4 and runs through the end of May, and this might be one of the coolest contests out there right now; the grand prize winner receives an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2015 Lone Star Le Mans at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX.

The highlight of this prize is, of course, being embedded with the Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 team for the September 19th race, but he or she will also have the opportunity to meet Tudor and IndyCar driver Townsend Bell. As a little icing on the cake, the winner will also be able to ride shotgun around CotA in the pace car.

As the sweepstakes name suggests, the winner will definitely get the royal treatment as the prize package includes airfare for two, hotel, meals and transportation, not to mention the fact that it sounds like they will be decked out in Royal Purple racing apparel. Entrants are automatically registered by either redeeming a $2.00 mail-in rebate for particular Royal Purple products or you can just enter online here. Either way, make sure you enter by May 31.

PostHeaderIcon Here's Your Chance To Win A EcoBoost-Powered 2015 Ford Edge

Ford is once again giving potential customers the chance to get behind the wheel of some of its most popular vehicles, in the EcoBoost Challenge, a 17-city tour that sees interested buyers navigating predetermined courses to feel firsthand what it’s like to put some of the blue oval’s products through their paces. The event is free, and to sweeten the deal each participant is automatically entered for a chance to win a brand new 2015 Ford Edge.

“With EcoBoost engines now available across 100 percent of our U.S. light-duty lineup, the EcoBoost Challenge lets consumers experience this innovative technology that helps Ford deliver better fuel economy with a more engaging driving experience than the competition,” said Michele Bartlett, Ford group marketing manager for large cars and SUVs. “Not only is the EcoBoost Challenge a lot of fun, but getting people in the driver’s seat is the best way for them to experience the craftsmanship, innovation and performance of the Ford lineup.”

Over 28,000 people took part in last year’s challenge. On hand this year is the 2015 Expedition, Escape, Fusion Hybrid and Transit Connect Wagon, not to mention the new Edge. For the more performance-oriented clientele, Ford will provide a Fiesta ST, Focus ST, and the new Mustang EcoBoost. Driving experiences include the ST Reaction Time Challenge and a dedicated Mustang course, both of which draw similarities to an autocross run. There’s also a Street Drive course that highlights a variety of Ford’s driver’s aides technologies (such as park assist). There’s even a “ShiftPhobia” boot camp to help you learn how to row your own.

The EcoBoost Challenge is already underway, with future events scheduled for Seattle, Chicago, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Rochester, and Minneapolis. Register here.

PostHeaderIcon Here's Your Chance To Win A 2015 Ford Mustang RTR

What’s better than a free 2015 Ford Mustang? How about a free 2015 Ford Mustang RTR! That’s exactly what one lucky person will snag the keys to in November thanks to the “You Get My Drift” sweepstakes sponsored by Gumout and Black Magic. The new Mustang RTR was unveiled at the 2014 SEMA Show, so it isn’t a surprise that the winner will take possession of their new car at this year’s show in Las Vegas.

The contest runs from April 9 through July 30, and it is open to anyone over the age of 18 years old living in the contiguous 48 states. To enter, just fill out the form online (or via snail mail), and the best part is that you can enter a submission each day until the contest expires.

As a refresher, the 2015 Ford Mustang RTR is the result of Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin, Jr. getting his hands on the all-new sixth-gen Mustang. The RTR package is on sale now at select Ford dealerships, which in base form gives the new Mustang a more aggressive styling. Step up to the Stage 2 package, though, and the RTR lays down 725-tireshredding-horsepower.

PostHeaderIcon Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious Launch Trailer: Video

Maybe it’s fate. You never know who you’ll run into at just the right time and place. Say, for instance, you happen to end up in Europe this spring to do a little street racing. What are the odds you’ll happen to meet up with the world’s greatest gang of expatriot street-racing superheroes? “The Avengers with musclecars,” as someone recently called them. What are the odds? A little better than you might think.

A couple of years ago, XBOX’s hometown racing sim Forza began branching out into the world of free-roaming racing games with the “Horizon” spin-off. It was kind of a dangerous gambit for Forza, dipping into the Need For Speed-style “open map” street racing genre; apart from its crazy customization engine, Forza’s long been the “serious” motorsports sim. But good physics only sell so many copies…at some point, you just need some “fast and furious” fun.

The first “Horizon” took place in Colorado, kind of Forza’s take on the Nevada Silver State Classic open road race. The sequel takes place in Europe, as racing sequels are wont to do. Take for example the Fast and Furious series, which starting a few titles back expatriated itself across the pond. And most fans of the series would say that was the best thing that could have happened to it since a certain Charger first showed its front wheels to the sky. Well, the first time. Speaking of which…

Welcome to The Crew.

PostHeaderIcon Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious – Behind the Scenes: Video

Even though Forza Horizon 2 was released late in September of last year, support for it just doesn’t seem to quit. Case in point: the new Fast & Furious standalone expansion. Scheduled for launch on March 27th, this sweet little DLC is free to download until April 10th, at which point a $10 outlay will be slapped on. What’s more, you don’t even need to own FH2 to play it.

In support of the new expansion, the game’s developer, Turn 10 Studios, has released this two-minute video featuring in-game footage, clips from the upcoming Furious 7 movie, and a few words from Picture Car Coordinator Dennis McCarthy. McCarthy has been building and modifying the cars you see in the F&F franchise for the last 10 years, and it’s interesting to hear his philosophy when it comes to creating the marvelous machines you see in the films.

Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will be available on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Features include missions, challenges, and voiceover work by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. Some of the special-edition, F&F cars you can expect to drive include the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, 2012 Nissan GT-R, 1998 Toyota Supra, 2014 Maserati Ghibli S, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, 2015 Dodge Charger R/T, 1970 Plymouth Cuda and a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

Which one will you drive first? Vin’s Charger, right? Gotta see if it’ll pull wheelies in the game, right? Oh, yeah.

PostHeaderIcon IL Car Museum Giving Away Replica BTTF Delorean

The odds that the Chicago Cubs will win the 2015 World Series currently stand at 14:1 (according to CBS Sports), but if you’re willing to lay down your hard-earned money on the cursed Cubbies, you might want to swing by the Volo Auto Museum, too. As an excellent promotional gem, the Chicago-area museum has announced that it is giving away its replica Delorean DMC-12 time machine from Back to the Future Part II, but only if the Cubs win this year’s Fall Classic. If you recall, Marty and Doc’s trip to 2015 revealed that the Cubs were winners of the World Series.

Starting March 21st, visitors to the museum can be register to win the Mr. Fusion-powered Delorean, which is valued at an estimated $85,000. According to Daily Mail, the “fan-made” replica car has been at the museum since the 1990s, and it includes all of the props… including the flux capacitor. If you believe in goat curses, though, a trip to the museum isn’t a total waste of time. Not only will you still get to see a great collection of automobiles, but even if Cubs don’t win the World Series, there will still be a drawing among the registered visitors where a BTTF II hoverboard movie prop will be given away instead.
