PostHeaderIcon McLaren 600LT Spider by MSO

This is the stunning McLaren 600LT Spider by MSO. It is an even better sorted out 600LT, which is a hard thing to achieve considering that McLaren hit a home run with it.
Nevertheless, McLaren is really big on personalization. It does have a special division dedicated to it, and it is called McLaren Special Operations. The magicians that work there are responsible for some of the best McLaren cars of the past few years. Just look at these beauties:

2019 McLaren 600LT by MSO 2018 McLaren 675LT MSO Gulf Racing Edition McLaren 720S Velocity MSO Special Edition

Obviously, people buying McLarens have enough dough to throw at their cars, and it is estimated that almost every McLaren sold has some MSO blood in it. Yet, the new one goes a bit further compared to any 600LT Spider we’ve ever seen. And, I’m not talking in terms of performance, either. After all, I told you eight amazing things about the 600LT some time ago. There, you could learn all astounding performance facts about it.

PostHeaderIcon Video Review Compilation: 2019 McLaren 600LT

McLaren launched its smallest hardcore “Long Tail” model, the 600LT, available as both a fixed hardtop and folding hardtop, late last year, and now the first reviews are starting to trickle in. The 600LT is a cheaper entry point into the McLaren range for those who enjoy taking their supercar to the track and would like to do so often. But, what do journalists think of it now that they’ve had a chance to get up close and personal with it? Find out for yourself in our video compilation below.

PostHeaderIcon Clash of the Track-Focused Giants: Ferrari 488 Pista vs McLaren 600LT vs Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche are three automakers renowned for making many superb track-honed models over the years, and the latest names to keep that flame going are 488 Pista, 600LT and 911 GT3 RS. All these cars are roughly in the same price bracket and are comparable in terms of performance. Yet, the way they achieve (and deliver) said performance is quite different from car to car.

PostHeaderIcon Wallpaper of the Day: 2019 McLaren 600LT Spider

McLaren kind of caught us off-guard with the introduction of the 600LT Spider – the 2nd long-tail spider of the ultimate series lineup. In true McLaren fashion, it comes with a 3.8-liter V-8 that’s good for 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Even better yet, McLaren managed to keep the usual weight gain associated with drop-top models under control as the 600LT Spider tips the scales at just 110 pounds more than the standard 600LT – that means it’s just 0.2-seconds slower than the coupe it’s based on. It also weighs some 220.5 pounds less than the McLaren 570S Spider – you know, just for the record. Anyway, the 60-mph sprint takes just 2.8 seconds, and the 124-mph sprint takes just 8.4 seconds. Put the hammer down, and you’ll bounce off the rev-limiter in high gear somewhere between 196 and 201 mph. With all of this said, we’re just taken back by the 600LT Spider’s sleek body design, proper proportions, and downright elegance. So, we’ve decided to feature it as our wallpaper of the day. We’ve picked out our favorite, but we’ve also added a gallery below for you to choose from if you want something different. Download one or download them all – they are free, and the choice is yours. Enjoy!

PostHeaderIcon McLaren 600LT Spider

The McLaren 600LT Spider is one of the few drop-top sports cars with barely any compromises over the coupe. It’s just 110 pounds heavier than the fixed-head version but, besides that, it offers the same 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque from the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. The catch? It costs almost $50,000 more than the 570S Spider that McLaren used as a starting point for the LT.

After teasing us with a video just a few days ago, McLaren finally released the official images of the mighty 600LT Spider. Again, LT stands for ’Long-Tail,’ but there is no long tail on this car to speak of, it’s merely as a pale homage to the Le Mans class-winning McLaren F1 GTR from 22 years ago. What you do get, though, is a highly competent track beast with the added benefit of being able to allow the elements to take their toll on you when the roof’s down.

If you like what you’re hearing you should rush to pre-order one because McLaren said that the production would be limited with “build slots scheduled around other Sports and Super Series models.” Production is said to commence in March and will go on for a year. The only problem with the 600LT Spider is, frankly, the existence of the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider with its 710 horsepower, 568 pound-feet of torque that’s likely quicker although it also costs a lot more as well.

PostHeaderIcon Teaser Image And Video Preview a New 2019 McLaren 600LT

It’s been less than a month since McLaren unveiled its latest supercar, the 720S Spider, and the British firm announced the arrival of a new vehicle. This time around it’s based on the 600LT, itself a higher performance variant of the570S. The teasers don’t reveal much, but we’re probably looking at the convertible version of the 600LT.

PostHeaderIcon There’s Now an Official Scale Model of the McLaren 600LT to Complement your Car Collection

Are the mouth-watering images of the McLaren 600LT making you want to rob a bank and buy one? Well, there’s now a less felonious way to own McLaren’s latest “LongTail” car. You can get yourself an accurate scaled-down representation of the real thing, either at 1/18 scale or 1/43 scale.

The model cars, developed in secret using blueprints of the real beast, are made out of resin by TSM (TrueScale Miniatures). The company’s relationship with McLaren dates back a few years, having made model cars of all the previous creations from Woking, including the F1 and the P1.

While the running and driving 600LT costs $243,000, the 1/43 scale model is yours for just $85 while the 1/18 scale model, bigger and even more detailed, is priced at $263.

PostHeaderIcon The McLaren 600LT Spyder is on the Books for 2019; Expected Debut at Paris Auto Show

McLaren has barely let loose the ludicrous 600LT and, already, the Spider version is in the pipeline for 2019. This was discovered when the name popped up on a CARB document that certifies emissions for next year’s cars. It was already known that McLaren was preparing the car from the way they designated the configurator for the Coupe model.

McLaren is on a charge in the last few years. After the 675LT and the 675LT Spider, the company from Woking delivered on its promises of a car to sit barely below the 675LT as an improved 570S on steroids with the 600LT. Now, we’re closer than ever to seeing the roofless model, and it may come our way at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

By all accounts, the Spider will share the same astounding performance figures of the “LongTail” Coupe, albeit not as light. It will still be quite a sight to see, either early next month in the French capital or, later, at the L.A. Auto Show that kicks off on November 30.

PostHeaderIcon McLaren 600LT Configurator Invites You To Have Fun

McLaren has launched the online configurator for the new 600LT supercar. Launched at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed back in July, the track-prepped Sports Series supercar brings back the Long Tail heritage for McLaren. The 600LT is lighter and more powerful than the 570S. It’s powered by the same twin-turbo, 3.8-liter, V-8 that’s used throughout the entire Sports Series lineup. The 600LT’s V-8 engine is tuned to produce 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque, 30 horsepower and 14 pound-feet of torque more than the 570S. Now that the supercar’s online configurator is live, it’s time to go have some fun with it.

PostHeaderIcon McLaren 600LT in Stealth Grey by MSO

McLaren’s most aggressive Sports Series model yet, the 600LT, joined the company’s exclusive line of MSO cars with the Stealth Grey edition. Equipped with features from both the MSO Defined and MSO Bespoke catalogs, it made its debut on the Concept Lawn of the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

This is the first 600LT with MSO treatment, but definitely not the last of its kind to hit the streets with bespoke features inside and out. It’s safe to say that most 600LTs — production is “strictly limited,” but an actual figure is not available yet — will be ordered with MSO upgrades. Let’s see what the Stealth Grey model is all about.

PostHeaderIcon Design the 600LT of Your Dreams in The New McLaren Configurator

The McLaren 600LT is yet another feather in the cap for the British automaker. As if it doesn’t have enough mouth-watering performance cars already, McLaren unveiled the 600LT with the purpose of filling out its entry-level Sports Series lineup with its own track-focused beauty. It looks the part of a super sports car, has the most power out of all McLaren Sports Series, and it’s configured for the thrills of the racetrack. Unfortunately, all that acclaim comes with the downside of us having little chance of owning one in our lifetimes. So what’s the best way to deal with that reality? Play around with the new McLaren 600LT online configurator, and imagine what our 600LTs could look like. It’s only in the virtual world, but like most things that we literally can’t get our hands on, we’ll take anything we can get.

PostHeaderIcon Video: McLaren 600LT Makes Some Smoke at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The McLaren 600LT is one of the most awaited debut models at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the supercar made quite an entrance with a good ‘ol fashioned tire-burning donut session. While some people will scoff at the car and say that it’s just a 570S with a power boost, the 600LT is actually a lot more than what it’s being given credit for.

PostHeaderIcon McLaren considering more extreme version of the 600LT

McLaren has just unveiled the 600LT as the quickest, most powerful iteration of the Sports Series that’s still legal for public road use, and word has it the British want to take things up a notch.

PostHeaderIcon McLaren 600LT vs McLaren 570S

A few years ago, McLaren was still a very small company that had few models on offer. This changed in 2015, when the Brits added a new lineup, the Sports Series. Placed under the Super Series family which includes the 650S and 675LT, among others, the Sports Series is the brand’s most affordable line of cars. It debuted with the 570S and 540C, but it soon grew to include the 570S Spider, the less track-focused 570GT, and the race-spec 570S GT4 and 570S Sprint. In 2018, McLaren finally granted the Sports Series access to its exclusive Longtail lineup and launched the 600LT.

Essentially an upgrade to the 570S, the 600LT uses more extreme aerodynamics and a more powerful engine. It’s quicker and more agile on the race track, yet it remains road-legal, sliding just under the track-only 570S GT4. So how does it compare to the 570S, the lineup’s range-topping model for three years? Let’s find out in the comparison below.

PostHeaderIcon The New McLaren 600LT is the Fourth “Longtail”, What Are the Other Three?

Making performance versions of performance cars somehow seems like a needless operation, but the likes of the Ferrari Speciale, the Porsche GT3 RS, or the Lamborghini Performante showed there is a market for these types of performance cars. Within the McLaren macrocosmos, we have the so-called LT line up. It is still a small lineup, but with the recent introduction of the fascinating, 600LT, the LT offering now includes the 675LT, the 675LT Spider, and the 600LT. However, there was a fourth LT car. The one that all modern McLaren LT performance beasts take a bow to. Their grandfather, if you like – the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail.

Matured under the watchful eye of McLaren racing engineers in the 90s for the 1997 racing season, the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail had such an imposing expression that it became an icon.

The McLaren Long Tail history may not be long, but it is full of cars that moved the bar within their respective segments.

PostHeaderIcon 8 Incredible Changes McLaren Made to Turn the 570S into the 600LT

Sharpening up its baby car, McLaren made some intricate changes geared towards giving the 600LT the character of a devil. As everything with McLaren, everything the engineers did to turn the 570S into the 600LT is quantifiable and extremely precise. It has made the ultimate Sport Series car by gifting the 570S with 23 percent new parts and dedicating 12 months to its production at their assembly lines in Woking. The new McLaren 600LT Coupe will be in production for a year starting in October. It is an extremely limited car as is the case with every “Long Tail” from McLaren. Order books are opened now.

The next time we see the 600LT will be at its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. McLaren should disclose more about its performance and dynamic virtues on the occasion. For the time being, we do know the 600LT is a devil. Making sure its buyers can handle extreme tendencies, McLaren included a Pure McLaren Road Owner Track Day at a race circuit with a racing driver. The driver will teach you how to tame the 600LT, not die in it.

These are eight incredible changes McLaren made to turn the 570S into the 600LT
