PostHeaderIcon Watch Mercedes Crash the 2020 EQC Electric SUV

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is the first all-electric model part of the EQ family, Mercedes’ range of vehicles designed from the get-go with electrification in mind. The EQC hasn’t yet reached third-party crash testers such as the EURO NCAP or the NHTSA, but the car apparently passed with flying colors the German automaker’s own internal crash tests.

Unveiled publically at this year’s Paris Motor Show, the EQC is Mercedes’ first bet for the new-generation EV market. It’s a compact luxury SUV, similar to the gas-powered GLC-Class, that will be on the market next year. Mercedes-Benz revealed that it already put the EQC up against a few rigid structures for some in-house evaluatory crash tests at the
Mercedes-Benz Technology Center for Vehicle Safety (TFS).

PostHeaderIcon 7 Electric SUVs And What They Bring to the Table

With the short, but obvious invasion of electric SUVs on the market, I am quite interested in what all of those machines bring. Many of the major manufacturers invested heavily in introducing a new generation of electric SUVs with Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, and BMW coming long after Tesla actually sparked the creation of the entire segment with the Model X.

Now, with a number of electric SUVs on the market one would expect some radically different thinking behind a seemingly similar car, but that may not be the case. Aside from five expensive electric SUVs (the I-Pace, the Model X, the EQ C, the E-Tron and theiX3 Concept), the only ones that were brave enough to give the market an electric shock are Hyundai and Kia with the Kona Electric and the Niro EV. So, learn here what all of them bring to the table and how do they differ.

PostHeaderIcon The 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC Shows Off It’s Amazing Technology at the Paris Motor Show

One month after it made its official debut, the Mercedes-Benz EQC, the company’s first all-electric crossover, showed up for public display at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Displayed alongside the new-generation GLE Class, the EQC has quite a few technologies to showcase in France.

PostHeaderIcon Love It or Leave It – The 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC

After years of rumors, teasers, and concept cars, Mercedes-Benz finally launched the EQ brand. Short for “electric intelligence,” EQ made its official debut through the EQC, a compact crossover similar in size to the familiar GLC. It’s Mercedes’ first all-electric crossover and its second EV after the B-Class Electric. The EQC’s introduction is definitely a major event for the German brand, but does it have what it takes to compete against the successful Tesla Model X and the upcoming BMW iX3? It’s still early to say, but we already know what we love and hate about it.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes EQC vs Tesla Model X

Mercedes is finally here with its trump card in the electric crossover segment – the Mercedes-Benz EQC. On 4 September, when the whole world was excited to witness the launch of this beast, there was one particular nervous face as well – the face that has been dominating the e-crossover market for quite some time now – The Tesla Model X. It was natural for the Model X to be threatened by a car which has a name that stands for ‘Electric Intelligence’. The king of the jungle finally has stiff competition (no offense, Jaguar lovers! the I-Pace is good too) in terms of looks, practicality, and performance. How can we not compare the two? Tesla’s days of bullying the kids in this segment seem to be nearing its end.

PostHeaderIcon Important Facts You Need to Know about the Mercedes EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC against anything Tesla.

Tesla is not all though. The EQC will enter the ring against the I-Pace, against the Audi E-tron Quattro, and against the upcoming BMW iX3. That is the playground for the expensive, yet, it seems, highly popular electric SUVs. Can’t even imagine what kind of bloodshed we should expect to see in the near future. Regardless of this, these are the most important facts about the Mercedes-Benz EQC.

PostHeaderIcon Not Pleased With the 2020 Mercedes EQC’s Bland Design? More Radical Models are Coming

Mercedes-Benz’s future lineup of EQ electric cars will feature more distinctive styling than the recently revealed EQC all-electric crossover. The revelation comes from EQ sales and marketing chief, Jorg Heinemann, who told Autocar that the EQC is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the EQ brand’s design creativity is concerned. For now, Mercedes is more concerned about establishing a starting point for the entire EQ family without going too far out on a limb with its styling.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes-Benz EQC vs Jaguar I-Pace

Like most mainstream automakers, Mercedes has been working on an all-electric drivertrain for more than a decade now. However, the Germans joined the market relatively late, with its first production model, the B-Class Electric Drive, being introduced in 2014. Four years later and Mercedes has finally rolled out its first fully independent EV built on a stand-alone platform. It’s called the EQC, and it’s part of the company’s new EQ brand for electric vehicles.

The EQC joins a rather tight niche of all-electric crossovers, with competitors including the Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace, and the upcoming BMW iX3. The Model X is already dominating the segment, but the I-Pace is also new to the market. With the EQC set to go on sale in 2019, it’s the right time to compare it against it’s most important rivals. This time around, we’re looking at its European counterpart, the Jaguar I-Pace. Let’s find out how the two compare in terms of design, technology, and drivetrain below.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes EQC vs Mercedes Generation EQ Concept

The Mercedes EQC was finally unveiled by Mercedes-Benz, and while it does share a number of styling cues with its concept counterpart, the Generation EQ Concept, you’re not going to mistake one for the other. That’s to be expected; the concept still looks far more dynamic than the production model. The latter, on the other hand, looks a lot more like what you’d expect from a production version. It looks safe, conservative, and, well, it’s not as visually arresting as we hoped it would be.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes-Benz EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is the company’s first all-electric crossover. Previewed by a concept car shown at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the EQC made its debut two years later. Aimed at competitor like the Jaguar I-Pace, Tesla Model X, and the upcoming BMW iX3, the EQC is also Mercedes’ first car under the EQ brand.

Unveiled in Stockholm, Sweden on September 4, the EQC will make its auto show debut in Paris in early October. Under development for many years, the EQC is the result of Mercedes’ commitment to launch a full lineup of all-electric vehicles under the EQ brand, which stands for “electric intelligence.” Although similar in size to the GLC, the EQC rides on a brand-new platform and sports a design of its own. It also debuts the company’s new-generation battery and electric motor assembly. Let’s find out more about it in the review below.

PostHeaderIcon The Mercedes EQC Makes a Quiet Debut with 200 Miles of Range, 402 Horsepower, and the Ability to Hit 60 in 4.9 Seconds

Mercedes-Benz is really ramping up its all-electric game as of late, debuting concepts like the EQ Silver Arrow at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, plus the Generation EQ Concept at the 2016 Paris Auto Show. Now, Merc is moving into full production mode with the debut of its first all-electric crossover for public consumption.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes Showcases the Silhouette of the new, 2020 EQC Electric SUV in New Teaser

The Mercedes EQC is having its world debut tomorrow, September 4, and lo and behold, Mercedes has just dropped the most revealing teaser of the highly anticipated all-electric crossover so far. The new teaser shows us a lot of the electric SUV, albeit in quick cuts to still keep a good amount of intrigue surrounding the model. Despite its unveiling, the Mercedes EQC is not going on sale anytime soon, at least not this year. Mercedes hasn’t intimated a specific timetable for its launch, opting only to say that it will happen sometime in 2019.

PostHeaderIcon The Interior of the Mercedes EQC is Downright Stunning

Mercedes-Benz has dropped another short teaser video for the EQC, the company’s first-ever all-electric model. The new teaser gives us our first look at the model’s interior, revealing a host of new technologies we haven’t seen from any Mercedes model in the past. The new teaser is the third of its kind for the EQC, following similar teaser videos of the model’s front and rear sections. The Mercedes EQC is scheduled to make its official debut on September 4.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes Teases the EQC EV before September 4th Debut

Fresh off of unveiling the Mercedes EQ Silver Arrows Concept at Pebble Beach, Mercedes is now all-hands on deck for the upcoming debut of its first-ever all-electric model, the EQC. The electric crossover is scheduled to debut on September 4, and the hype train is leaving the tracks this early, carrying a new teaser video of the EQC with it.

Mercedes is cooking up quite the presence at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one that will be highlighted by the debut of the Aesthetics Progressive Luxury Concept. The streamlined prototype reveals little at this point, but the concept, which reportedly carries the in-house name, Electric Silver Arrow, is pegged as a halo model for the German automaker’s newly created EQ electric brand.
