PostHeaderIcon Brabus Mercedes G500 (2019) Makes the G63 Redundant

Let us make one thing clear about the title of this news post, that is about the G63 bit. Yes, the new 2019 Brabus Mercedes G500 does render the G63 pointless and redundant. But it’s the old G63 we’re talking about and not the new 585-hp model. This G500 is as powerful as the previous G63, and it looks better too.

The Brabus Mercedes G500 2019 features the 500 PowerXtra performance upgrade developed in-house at Brabus. It gives the offroader 368 kW / 500 hp (493 bhp) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. That translates on the road to a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds, and don’t tell me you need more than that in a high-riding SUV. You don’t. That is more than enough for any situation.

But the real reason a lot of people are going to want the 2019 Brabus Mercedes G500 is the looks. The tuner has taken the 2019 G-Class and garnished with a bunch of cool accessories. From the underspoiler and LED lights, to the Brabus grille, carbon fiber vented hood, the lights bar on the roof, the overfenders, side steps, and the huge and dainty wing on the roof, the styling kit is one of the coolest we’ve seen on any G-Class.

The styling package for the Brabus G500 is complemented with a set of BRABUS Monoblock wheels including “PLATINUM EDITION” hi-tech forged wheels with a diameter of 23 inches. These wheels, shod with high performance tires, also help with the performance. Brabus also supplies some interior goodies, such as Mastik leather, Alcantara, and aluminum pedals and trims.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 Gets 600 to 800 PS from G-Power

There used to be a time when G-Power only worked on BMW cars. That didn’t make much sense, because with the kind of expertise these guys have, they could make a lot more money working on other makes and models. So now they have a wide range of packages for good number of different cars, with the latest offering being a neat kit for the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63.

Not that the new C63 is in any way a slouch when it leaves the factory in Affalterbach, but that’s the thing with German engines. They always have a lot more to give than what they are locked at in the factory. G-Power has unlocked the potential of the twin-turbo V8 engine in the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 and came up with 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Impressive, but still not all that it has to offer.

The 600 PS package consists of G-POWER Performance Module V1 and not much else. The modified software, which by the way also removes the top speed limiter, is enough to boost the output of the AMG engine by 90 PS. Those who are more serious about tuning their 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63, and have deeper pockets too, can opt for a full-fat kit which combines the software adaptations with extensive modifications to the powertrain including new exhaust system and modified turbochargers. That one is good for a spine-tinging 800 horsepower!

As always, the only visual mod G-Power offers is a set of their celebrated HURRICANE RR forged wheels, measuring 20 inch in diameter for the C63.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes X-Class V6 350d Priced from £38,350 in the UK

The most anticipated version of the X-Class, Mercedes-Benz’s first pickup truck, is now available to order in the UK with deliveries coming in November. It’s the Mercedes X-Class V6 350d, which is the most versatile of the bunch with good performance and economy, and it has a good-ish price tag, too, starting at £38,350.

The pickup is, of course, 4MATIC and benefits from a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, wide track, long wheelbase and comfort suspension. The 258 hp (190 kW) and maximum torque of 550 Nm from the common-rail direct injection, coupled with the transmission modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport, Off-Road, and Manual) and the modes of the all-whee-drive system make the Mercedes X-Class V6 350d a go-anywhere pickup truck. But that is not all that is great about it.

The X-Class is, after all, a Mercedes. And so it comes with goodies such as painted bumpers and chrome guards, LED high-performance headlights with cleaning system,LED tail lights; electrically folding exterior mirrors, and KEYLESS GO, eight-way electrically adjustable and heated driver and front passenger seats, leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles and cruise control, ARTICO leather and DINAMICA microfiber upholstery, and an ARTICO leather dashboard with topstitching, plus 18 inch wheels.

A host of safety equipment, including Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist (radar-based autonomous emergency braking), Traffic Sign Assist, Hill-Start Assist, Downhill Speed Regulation, a Thatcham anti-theft security package, complements the equipment list of the Mercedes X-Class V6 350d, and you have the option of COMAND Online (£1,470) with Garmin MAP PILOT as an alternative option, which can be included for £405.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 Family – UK Pricing and Specs

The huge family of the new 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 has received its official UK pricing in a bid to lock the market in the segments where its members compete through a blend of style, performance, and relatively good value. The C63 comes in saloon, estate, coupe and cabriolet body styles.

Now, we said relatively good value because it’s not like 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 is cheap or anything. But it is cheaper than its bigger, badder rivals that offer teh same kind of performance for a lot more money. Prices for the 2019 C63 start at £66,429 for the C63 Saloon, from £67,629 for the C63 Estate, £68,719for the C63 Coupe, and £72,537 for the C63 Cabriolet.

All members of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 are powered by the same hand-built 4.0-litre V8 ‘hot V’ biturbo petrol engine which generates 476 hp or 510 hp for S models. They all get the same AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission as well, and benefit from AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive damping adjustment and an electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential. Performance-wise, they differ slightly, with the saloon doing the 0-62 sprint in 4.1 seconds for the standard and 4.0 sec for the S model, estate in 4.2 seconds (4.1 seconds for the S), coupe in 4.0 and 3.9 respectively and the cabriolet in 4.2 and 4.1 respectively.

Standard equipment on all models includes 18-inch alloy wheels; performance exhaust; Multibeam LED headlights; 12.3-inch digital cockpit display; 10.25-inch central display; Comand Online; ambient lighting with a choice of 64 colours; keyless start; wireless phone charging; and memory seats. The C 63 S adds nine-stage AMG traction control; AMG Track Pace; AMG performance seats; and 19-inch alloy wheels.

PostHeaderIcon Ultra-Rare, Ultra-Clean Mercedes CLK GTR Headed for Monterey Auction

It is not often that a Mercedes CLK GTR crosses the auction block, and it rarely happens that it should such a prime example. Actually, this 1998 CLK GTR you see here is virtually brand-new with only 1,500 km on the clock, and it is going under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s Monterey action next month.

Belonging to the golden era of GT1 Le Mans cars – it was built as the production version of the race car, as per the rules – the Mercedes CLK GTR is a supercar on par with the McLaren F1 and Porsche 911 GT1. It is an absolute monster, famous for having a tight cabin and almost no creature comfort whatsoever. And yet it is one of the most sought after collectibles on account of its history, its looks, and the fact that they only made 25 copies of it. This one is number 9, and as mentioned it has only walked for 1,500 km and has been under fastidious care and maintenance all its life.

Boasting full documentation and being fully road-legal in all 50 states, this 1998 Mercedes CLK GTR has an estimate of between $4,250,000 and $5,250,000, which we reckon is a conservative estimate. It will almost certainly go for much higher than that. The fact that this car is so clean means it will probably never see any action anywhere, which is kind of sad, because it has a fantastic AMG engine with 600-something horsepower. This car was imported to the States as a show car and chances are it will remain so forever.

Still, if you fancy owning it for a while, you can bid for it at the auction. Well, maybe you can, because according to the auctioneer “this particular lot is available only to specially credentialed bidders who have registered their interest with RM Sotheby’s in advance of the auction.”

PostHeaderIcon 2020 Mercedes A-Class Sedan Unveiled (Global Version)

As some you may remember, back in April Mercedes-Benz revealed a sedan version of the new A-Class exclusively for the Chinese market. Now it’s time for the rest of the world to get the compact and practical Mercedes A-Class Sedan, even though they still have to wait until spring 2019 to be able to buy one.

If you thing that the 2020 Mercedes A-Class Sedan is nothing but an A-Class hatchback where the hatch is removed and a boot is added, well, you are pretty much on the money there. In fact, Mercedes themselves are struggling to come up with an interesting soundbite to promote this car, and had to resort to its aerodynamic drag, a Cd value of 0.22, which is the lowest of all production vehicles worldwide. That makes the A-Sedan the most aerodynamic production car in the world, a title that used to belong to its sibling, the CLA Coupe.

So as mentioned, the real strength of the new Mercedes A-Class Sedan lies in how practical it is in spite of its tiny footprint. Let us introduce some figures to help you understand that better. The car has a length of 4.5 meters, a wheelbase of 2.72m, and a boot capacity of 420 liters. It has above average head and legroom for this class, and what’s more, the boot opening is very large with a width of 950 mm and a diagonal of 462 mm between lock and lower edge of the rear window. It’s these little details that make the A-Sedan a top player in this segment.

To be built in Mexico and Germany, the 2020 Mercedes A-Class Sedan will launch in two variants. The first is the A200 with 163 hp, 250 Nm, and the other A180d diesel packing 116 hp, 260 Nm. Both get the same 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission. Equipment-wise, you get MBUX infotainment as standard, plus Active Brake Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist. Optionally, you can order AMG Line trim, KEYLESS-GO Convenience Package, and…

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door 63 Priced from 150,118 EUR

So the wait is almost over and in a few months you will be able to drive the magnificent beast that is the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Well, if you have at least 150K Euro to spare, that is. They have opened the order books for the super saloon with the first deliveries promised for late fall 2018.

As I’m sure you know, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door launches in two versions, just like any other new AMG. There is the basis GT 63, and the hard-core GT 63 S.They are both 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive cars, and they both have the same 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 engine. But whereas the 63 gets only (!) 585 horses to play with, the 63 S packs an astonishing 639 hp. Torque-wise, the non-S has 800 Nm, and the S 900. The difference that makes in real-world performance though, is minuscule. The AMG GT 4-Door 63 sprints form 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and tops 310 km/h. The 63 S version accelerates to 100 in 3.2 seconds and flat out reaches 315 km/h.

So not a big difference in speed, and certainly not worth the extra dough they are asking for the full fat version. The standard 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door starts at 150,118.50 EUR, while the 63 S kicks things off at 167,016.50 EUR. And as if that wasn’t expensive enough, there is an Edition 1 version which costs 185,342.50 EUR!

But as always with AMG cars, it is not just about the performance. Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door is also a super deluxe mile-muncher with an awesome interior and every imaginable comfort and technology features. The S model costs extra not just because it’s more powerful, but also because it gets sportier exterior and interior details. The same goes for the Edition 1 which brings exclusivity through the use of special colors and trims. Check out the press release below for a detailed list of the standard and available features for each model…

Standard equipment includes the fully variable all-wheel drive 4MATIC+, the fast-shifting AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, active rear axle steering and the electronically controlled rear axle locking differential. As in the two-door AMG GT, the active aeoerdynamics with the AIRPANEL air control system in the front apron and the extending rear spoiler provide the basis for the high aero-performance of the new 4-door Coupés.

The interior of the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ has ultra-modern features: innovative control panels such as the eight high-resolution display switches in the centre console can be intuitively operated. The AMG Performance steering wheel with the new AMG steering wheel buttons, AMG sport seats in nappa leather and the fully digital Widescreen cockpit with an AMG-specific instrument cluster and the new “Supersport” display style emphasise the dynamic character. MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, the EASY-PACK tailgate, the Burmester® surround sound system and ambience lighting in 64 colours enhance everyday comfort.

The blend of high individualisation and sports car technology, placing yet more focus on the requirements of discerning customers, is also clear from the wealth of equipment packages and individual options. This is unique in the segment, and e.g. includes three different configurations for the rear bench seat. Two individual seats in the rear are standard equipment.

The high longitudinal and transverse dynamics come by virtue of systematic networking of all systems and components. The extremely rigid structure of the bodyshell also contributes, as does the sophisticated control strategy of the fully variable all-wheel drive system. Working together with the active aerodynamics, the rear axle steering and the integrated dynamic control system AMG DYNAMICS, the sophisticated suspension configuration comes fully into its own.

In addition the AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ features e.g. active engine mounts, larger light-alloy wheels and the AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre.

Exklusive Edition 1 for the AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+

To mark the launch of the new AMG GT 4-door Coupé, Mercedes-AMG will for a limited period of 12 months be offering the Edition 1 model. By emphasising the sporty aspects of the exterior and reinforcing the high-quality finish of the interior, this model offers even more exclusivity and distinctive appeal. The AMG Aerodynamics package with a larger front splitter and integral flics in the front apron, the further improved diffuser and the fixed rear spoiler is unrivalled in the competitive lineup. Together with the decals, it underlines the proximity to motorsport. In conjunction with the 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, the paintwork in designo graphite grey magno, diamond white bright or graphite grey metallic immediately draws the eye.

The interior is made even more sportily exclusive by AMG Performance seats in Exclusive nappa leather in magma grey/ black with yellow contrasting topstitching, The AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with yellow contrasting topstitching and the AMG matt carbon-fibre trim add further highlights in the interior.

The Edition 1 is reserved for the top model, the AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ 4-door Coupé with the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine in its most powerful version.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes X-Class Yachting Edition by Carlex Design

Carlex Design is best known to most of you as an excellent interior specialist. But they have grown into a fully fledged tuner now, and have taken the game to a new level with their latest creation, the Mercedes X-Class Yachting Edition. They’ve done such a fine job, you’d think this was a factory special edition or something.

Carlex’s Mercedes X-Class Yachting Edition boasts a 15-piece body kit designed and built by Pickup Design for their X-Class Urban model. The carbon kit is then customized for the Yachting X and complemented with elements such as Maybach S650 Coupe wheels and grille. The body is finished in porcelain white with chocolate brown accents and unique emblems. And of course, there are the necessary arrangements for towing your luxury yacht with this truck.

The best part of Mercedes X-Class Yachting Edition, however, is the interior. The inspiration, obviously, has been luxury yachts cabin as shown by the white Nappa Porzellan leather, also from the Maybach, and teak wood decoration. There is also  a large amount of Alcantara and exotic wood trimming. What we like best is the extent of the modification. Everywhere you look there is a fascinating little detail that pleases the eye and delights the touch. The interior treatment has a positive effect on the driving fun of this vehicle as well, what with the bucket seats and that cool steering wheel.

Carlex Design is now accepting orders for the Mercedes X-Class Yachting Edition. Priced start at around 105,000 Euro.

PostHeaderIcon Wald Mercedes GLC Class Black Bison Kit Revealed

By the standards of Japanese tuner Wald International, this thing is a bit down to earth. Their latest Black Bison treatment covers a not-so-popular crossover, and turns it into a real hottie. The Wald Mercedes GLC Class X235 gains the charm and sportiness the original just lacks.

And the interesting thing is, it does that without getting carried away with tricks of styling. Those who have seen the works of Wald will agree that Wald Mercedes GLC Class is a pretty tame kit. This tuner usually comes up with enormous spoilers and wings, huge air intakes, massive grilles, and extra wide fenders. With this car though, they have held back and added to the GLC just the right amount of flamboyance, enough to rid the crossover of its dull and unattractive natural style.

The Wald Mercedes GLC Black Bison package consists of a number of simple components. On the front you have the front spoiler lip which sits under the AMG bumper and transforms its looks by following its lines and elaborating on them. Then there is the dynamic side skirts, giving the car a bit of muscle on its hips, and finally the rear treatment which includes a roof spoiler, a tailgate spoiler, and a rear bumper diffuser. Put together, they give the rear of the vehicle a fresh new look that is cool and sporty.

PostHeaderIcon Latest RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT R Packs 825-hp

While the standard AMG GT R with its 610 horsepower engine is a bit of a handful to many, there are those who are confident in their driving skills and want to be thrilled with eve more power. The new RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT R is the car for these folks. It has an insane 825 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque.

That is what RENNtech does. The German/American tuner has a knack for extracting huge power out of any Mercedes Engine, and when the engine they begin with is an AMG 4.0 liter Bi-Turbo, the results are bound to be astounding. The performance package devised for this RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT R include a software upgrade for the engine control unit, a downpipe with a 200-cell cat, blow-off valves, a high-flow air filter, and upgraded turbochargers.

Furthermore, the transmission and the clutch have been reinforced in order to cope with the extra oomph. This is German engineering, don’t forget. You don’t get the extra performance at the cost of durability. RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT R also boasts a subtle aero kit, consisting of ront bumper canards, side rocker panels, a larger, two-stage rear wing and an extended diffuser, garnished with a set of Vossen wheels in sizes 10×19” and 12×20” front, shod respectively with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ZP semi-slick tires measuring 285/30 ZR 19 and 335/25 ZR20.

Further customization of the exterior and interior is possible at RENNtech’s workshop.

PostHeaderIcon ARES X-Raid Is a Coachbuilt Mercedes G63 AMG

Sometimes the tuners get carried away when they are trying to design a new body kit for a popular car and end up redesigning the whole thing. More often than not that redesign is a total disaster. But on a few rare occasions what results is way nicer than the base car, as is in the case of ARES X-Raid which is a heavily customized Mercedes G63 AMG.

We had seen this beast in computer renderings before, but it’s the first time we get to check it out in the flesh, or metal to be more precise, courtesy of the folks at Alain Class Motors who have secured a pristine 2014 example of the extraordinary ARES X-Raid. The extent of modifications applied to this car is such that you would have to stare at it a while before you even realize it is a G63 AMG under the skin. There is new fascia on the front and rear, new side panels, skirts, fenders, tailgate, pretty much everything has been changed and made more dramatic.

ARES X-Raid G63 features the 5.5 liter bi-turbo AMG V8 which the tuner has upgraded to 760 horsepower. The carbon fiber body reduces the overall weight by as much as 200 kg compared to the standard G63, so the X-Raid is pretty quick. The luxury SUV also features jacked up suspension and bespoke 22 inch wheels. As for the interior, it is also bespoke and features a redesigned dashboard and a new rear passenger compartment with two individual seats and a large center console. This particular example has a Cream interior garnished with light-colored wooden trims which look very warm and cozy.

PostHeaderIcon TopCar Mercedes V-Class INFERNO Is a Van for Batman Villains

You know TopCar as the crazy Russian tuner that only works on the most high-end sports car and has a fondness for crocodile leather. But since these days luxury vans are in trend, they have come up with a new TopCar Mercedes V-Class equipped with an INFERNO styling package, and it looks like the kind of thing a Batman villain would drive as his family car.

If you have seen other INFERNO kits from this tuner you will find the looks of TopCar Mercedes V-Class fairly familiar. The treatment is thorough and completely revamps the looks of the people carrier. Starting at the front, we have a new fascia featuring a sports grille finished, on this example, in matte black, new bumper with large openings in vein of AMG cars, aerodynamic lining on the left and right, a central spoiler, front lip and LED lights.

Moving to the side, TopCar Mercedes V-Class INFERNO boasts front and rear sill extensions as well a pair of dynamic side skirts. That leads us to the back where a sports rear bumper incorporates a large aggressive diffuser and aerodynamic pads on the left and right, as well as carbon exhaust tips. A carbon fiber hood and a set of exclusive wheels finish off the job as far as new components are concerned. This particular car has also been subjected to a two-tone paint treatment which combined with the tinted windows give the whole thing a superb, menacing look.

PostHeaderIcon Mercedes C-Class Nightfall Edition Model Launch in UK

Adding a bit of pizzazz to the C-Class range in the UK, Mercedes-Benz announced the launch of a series of special edition models. The Mercedes C-Class Nightfall Edition range will go on sale from tomorrow, May 18, with prices starting from £32,565 for the C 200 Nightfall Edition Saloon.

But if saloon body style is not your cup of tea, don’t despair. Mercedes C-Class Nightfall range also covers estate, coupe and cabriolet variants. The shared features of these cars include powder coated matt black wheels; matching black wing mirrors; graphics; carbon rear spoiler (on Coupé and Cabriolet); and a choice of Iridium Silver; Selenite Grey; or Obsidian Black metallic paint. These are enough to turn the C-Class from a fairly boring family car into a classy bird catcher. But Nightfall goodness does not end here.

Other highlights of the Mercedes C-Class Nightfall Edition include AMG Line including black ash wood trim; AMG steering wheel with flat bottom; AMG body styling; 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels (or optional 19-inch multispoke alloy wheels) in powder-coated matt black; sports suspension; and a diamond grille with chrome pins (only on the Coupé and Cabriolet). Again, this is not all. There are other options to further personalize your car and make it even more exclusive.

Those willing to part with more of their money can get the £1,695 Premium package which adds Ambient lighting; Keyless-Go Comfort package; Memory package and Panoramic glass sunroof. For £2,995 the Premium Plus package offers Burmester surround sound system and COMAND Online. The Nightfall range includes, engine-wise, the C 220 d, C 250 d diesel and C 200 petrol models.

PostHeaderIcon Brabus Mercedes X-Class Tuning Package Revealed

It is a given that Brabus should come up with nice upgrade packages for every new Mercedes-Benz. And yes, that includes their new pickup truck. The Brabus Mercedes X-Class comes with a well-rounded kit that boost the visual appeal as well as performance of the high-end pickup.

In terms of design, Brabus Mercedes X-Class boasts a number of key features including Monoblock X 20-inch wheels mounted with 285/45 R 20 tires, new front grille with mesh and decorative elements, under-body guards front and back along with side steps, integrated LED side markers, Brabus lighting module on the roof with twelve powerful LEDS on either side, and four tailpipes connected to Brabus sport exhaust system.

Interior mods are limited at this time for Brabus Mercedes X-Class, but you get nice options such as fine leather interiors in a virtually endless variety of colors and designs, Alcantara accents, sport pedals, and stainless scuff plates. Power-wise, Brabus currently offers an upgrade for the X 250d diesel model with the D4 PowerXtra performance kit. The plug and play power module adds to the 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine a decent 21 hp (20 bhp) and 60 Nm (42 lb-ft) more torque for a total of 211 hp (208 bhp) plus torque of 510 Nm (376 lb-ft).

More serious upgrades, including a power kit for the X 350d model, is already in the works at Brabus workshops. Whether they release a high-end 850 or 900 version of the X-Class remains to be see.

PostHeaderIcon Official: 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster

So out of the blue, AMG has come up with a car nobody asked for. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster fills a gap that didn’t really exist between the GT and GT C variants of the Roadster. It’s the model for those who find the 470 hp of the GT too little and the 550 hp of the GT C too much.

Those five people will be glad to know that the Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster packs 515 horsepower, and sits snugly between the two aforementioned models in terms of performance as well. It does 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 192 mph. So the engine is the same twin-turbo V8, and the transmission the same AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G. But the S is going to render the regular GT pointless as it comes as standard with the GT C’s AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with Adaptive Damping System and Electronically controlled rear differential.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster also features a performance exhaust system, but what it doesn’t have includes the rear wheel steering system. That is probably not a deal breaker for most people. You even get ARTICO/DINAMICA upholstery and nappa leather steering wheel. There are also subtle changes to the shape of the bumpers and wheels, but nothing to write home about. Whether these modifications to the modifications to the engine, suspension, brakes, design and interior are sufficient to persuade people to buy the S depends on how much cheaper it is than the GT C. It the price difference is not significant then most people would prefer the full-fat version. The GT S Roadster will be launched in late 2018.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Edition 1 – Specs and Details

Edition 1 models are launch versions of every new AMG, outfitted with exclusive features and enhanced visual details. The new 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Edition 1 marks the launch of the hot super saloon in the European market early next year, and it is so good – on paper at least – that it makes the Porsche Panamera Turbo look utterly pointless.

Before we get to the detailed specs and features of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Edition 1, let’s see what kind of power this practical hot rod offers. The car boasts a handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with an output of 630 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to all-wheel-drive and an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, that power enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 195 mph. The GT also features sophisticated aero, including AIRPANEL active air management system.

But this being a Benz, style and comfort are just as important as performance. And that is where 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Edition 1 has the edge over the Panamera. The sexy four-door coupe design aside, the Edition 1 comes with designo Graphite Grey Magno paint work, AMG sports stripes in matte Graphite Grey, and 21 inch matte black wheels. Inside the cabin the main highlights include AMG Multicontour Performance Seats, nappa leather in Magma Grey/Black with yellow contrast stitching, AMG DINAMICA steering wheel with yellow accents, and carbon fiber trim package.

Other distinguishing factors of the Edition 1 four-door GT include Nappa leather in Magma Grey door cards, yellow seatbelts, AIR-BALANCE Package with new, dedicated “AMG #63” fragrance, and illuminated AMG door sill panels. The Euro-spec models also get bespoke floor mats with “AMG” lettering and yellow topstitching. Pricing will be announced closer to market launch.

PostHeaderIcon Wheelsandmore Mercedes-AMG E63 S Gets Up to 712-hp

People have come to expect nothing but visual tweaks from German tuner Wheelsandmore. And if we’re honest, their name is not a lot of help, either. But their latest creation, the Wheelsandmore Mercedes-AMG E63 S proves these guys are also masters of engineering.

The tuners offer a power kit for the already gutsy saloon that comes in three different stages of tune to suit every need. You can have this for S and non-S model and enjoy the unlocked v-max that comes with it. Stage one and two up the output of the the 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 to 650 hp and 920 nm and 680 hp and 960 nm respectively. But the Wheelsandmore Mercedes-AMG E63 S to have is the stage three tuning box which pushes the output to a full 712 hp with 965 Nm of torque.

With this kit, the Wheelsandmore Mercedes-AMG E63 S is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing, especially if the E63 in question is the wagon version. The tuner likes to leave the appearances understated, giving the car only a couple of light touches. The E63 receives in this treatment a height-adjustable sport suspension, and a set of fancy wheels. They recommend the F.I.W.E rims in sizes 10×21 inch with 265/30/21 tires for the front and 11.0×21 inch wide rims of the same type and with 295/25/21 tires for the rear. But if you wait a bit longer WaM is set to release new F.I.W.E with center lock feature. That’d be real cool on a station wagon!

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes-AMG E53 Hits UK in Saloon and Estate Forms

The diet AMGs, distinguished by their 43 & 53 moniker which signifies they are low-fat versions of the 63 models, have proved pretty popular. Turns out there is a gap between the standard models and the super hot, full-fat AMGs, and the 53 fill that up nicely. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG E53 is the latest of this series to be launched in the UK.

British customers can now place their orders for the Mercedes-AMG E53, in saloon or estate bodystyles, at the showrooms across the Kingdom. The first deliveries, however, won’t arrive until July. As for the cost, prices start from £61,835 for the Saloon and £63,835 for the Estate.

Mercedes-AMG E53 is powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine with EQ Boost technology. While that might sound unappealing to the hard-core AMG fans with their love of V8s, this straight-six generates the same sort of power only a few years ago you would get from a huge V8. The output stands at 435 hp and 520 Nm, with an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm thanks to the EQ Boost system. So this car is a mild hybrid, which explains how it manages to return 32.5 mpg on the combined cycle, emitting 200 g/km. An AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission uses that power to take the E53 from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds.

As for the kit, every E53 AMG comes as standard with: 19-inch alloy wheels; AMG performance exhaust; AMG Ride Control suspension, based on Air Body Control air suspension; AMG Dynamic Select with a choice of driving modes; Comand Online including a 12.3-inch infotainment display; 12.3-inch cockpit display; Multibeam LED Intelligent Light System; Nappa leather upholstery in black with red contrast stitching; wireless phone charging; parking package with 360° camera; and memory package, including electrically adjustable front seats and steering column. You can further upgrade your car with optional packages such as Premium Plus (£2,595), Comfort Package (£395), and Driving Assistance Plus (£1,695).

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Mercedes A-Class L Sedan Is for China Only

While the Europeans are waiting to get their hands on the new and much acclaimed 2019 A-Class hatchback, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a sedan version of the car. The Mercedes A-Class L Sedan, as it’s called, is built in China for China, and it boasts an extended wheelbase that is 6 cm longer than that of the hatchback.

The Chinese are not the tallest race, not by any stretch of the imagination. But they do like legroom for some reason, which is why almost all car makers produce exclusive long wheelbase models for that market. Mind you, even with the extra 6 centimeter the Mercedes A-Class L Sedan is no giant. It’s roughly the same size as the European CLA. The car is being produced exclusively at Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd (BBAC), a joint venture between Daimler and its Chinese partner BAIC Motor.

To look at, the 2019 Mercedes A-Class L Sedan is pretty much identical to the hatchback at the front. At the back, however, and besides the obvious bit that the Americans call the trunk and the Brits the boot, there is two-piece tail lights and new bumper. The L also gets new wheel designs, from 16 to 19 inches. The interior is the same as the hatchback model, and gets the new MBUX infotainment system as well. Engine-wise, the A-Sedan launches with a 1.33 liter petrol engine, to be followed later by 2-litre four-cylinder engine with CONICSHAPE trumpet honing and CAMTRONIC variable valve timing.

“With our Chinese customers’ wishes and needs in mind, we developed the A?Class L Sedan for the local market, which is the first and only long wheelbase model in the premium compact car segment,” said Hubertus Troska, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Greater China. “This long wheelbase version offers added space, with a rear compartment dedicated to meeting local preferences. And given our customers in China are young and connected, our new, intuitive MBUX telematics system gives them a highly individualized digital experience. With these highlight features and more, the A?Class L Sedan is an excellent choice for our Chinese customers. We believe it will promote our further growth as our fifth model produced locally at BBAC, and we will build it in China, for China together with our partner BAIC.”

PostHeaderIcon Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury Is All About “Sensual Purity”

The first Maybach SUV goes official ahead of its Auto China 2018 debut in form of Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury. Conceived as a four-motor electric vehicle with variable all-wheel-drive, the UL blends the comfort of a super deluxe sedan with the character of a SUV. And it has what is quite possibly the most refined car interior ever designed.

Said to be designed with inspirations from both Western and Far Eastern cultures, Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury incorporates cues that will be replicated not just in the production version of this car, but other future Maybach models as well. The main highlights include a big, imposing grille, low-profile front headlamps with three lamp units plus three-part lamps at the back, and 24 inch turbine wheels, although the size will be tamed down a little.

The best of part of Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury, however, is the interior. Superior luxury is a given in a Maybach, and comfort and spaciousness are inherent qualities in a SUV. This SUV saloon, though, adds exquisite refinement to those. The dashboard is minimalist in design, replicating the form of the grille, and dominated by double 12.3?inch displays. Meanwhile the seats have rosegold exposed frames and white leather upholstery, brown accents, polished aluminum trims, and rosegold stitching. The ebony Magic Wood center console features a heated tray complete with kettle and cups for what they call the tea service. If you are more of a coffee person, this car is not for you.

The Maybach Ultimate Luxury has a system output of 750 horsepower, enabling a top speed of 250 km/h (limited). The range is projected at 200 miles, while there is a fast charging system onboard that with a five-minute charge delivers an extra 100 kilometers of driving.
