PostHeaderIcon The Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept is Perfect for Clear Nights Under the Stars

Nissan revealed a highly modified version of its Navara pickup truck at the Hannover Motor Show, called the Navara Dark Sky Concept. The pickup is designed to transport astronomers to remote locations to observe the night sky; but of course, it will also appeal to the romantics and star-gazers.

PostHeaderIcon Kuhl Nissan LEAF Goes Negative Camber

Here’s another proof that traditional tuning tricks don’t work on the new electric car. Well, they do work in the literal sense of the word. But they invariably end up ridiculous and outright silly. This is a 2018 Nissan LEAF modified by Kuhl Racing. And while the body kit is prominent, the negative camber treatment is the main highlight of the package.

Of course, you could ignore the monstrous camber mod and only go for the parts. The thing is, the people who buy electric cars don’t usually have a concept of modification and tuning. So who is this Kuhl Nissan LEAF is for? An environmentalist bad boy? A gangsta rapper who also worries about melting ice caps? Or, most likely, for some crazy Japanese dude who just wants to look unique. In that sense the KUHL LEAF is a job well done.

We’re not sure how that camber affects the efficiency of the LEAF and its range. And we don’t even want to think about the havoc it wreaks on the car’s ride and handling. But the kit is nice and the ride height slash is also cool. The extra components Kuhl can offer for pimping out your LEAF include a front under spoiler, dynamic side skirts, rear diffuser and huge roof spoiler. The two tone effect on this particular example also plays a big part in giving it that unique look.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Nissan Pathfinder MSRP Starts from $31,230

Nissan is one of the car makers whose range of SUV/crossovers covers almost all types and sizes. The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder sits somewhere around the middle of that range, and offers a nice compromise for a good price. The new versions kicks things off at $31,230.

As with all Nissans, you get plenty of value for that price. All 2019 Nissan Pathfinder are powered by a gutsy 284-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. The engine develops 259 lb-ft of torque as well. And with an Xtronic transmission that gives it a towing capability of up to 6,000 pounds. What’s more, the SUV can seat up to seven people and comes with EZ Flex Seating System with LATCH AND GLIDE. What that means is, the Pathfinder is very practical for the needs of a family, even a big one.

Features-wise, and depending on the trim, 2019 Nissan Pathfinder also offers Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM), Bose 13-speaker premium audio system, Dual Panorama Moonroof, Motion-Activated liftgate with liftgate position memory and NissanConnect with Navigation and Services. You can even specify Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. A Rear Sonar System is standard on all trim levels.

Pathfinder SV 2WD $34,270 USD
Pathfinder SL 2WD $37,920 USD
Pathfinder Platinum 2WD $42,570 USD

PostHeaderIcon What Do We Know About The Nissan 400Z?

We will get a new Nissan Z-car. The new Nissan Z car is due for a reveal in the coming years, and some suggest we may even see it at the next Tokyo Motor Show or at NAIAS in 2019. Mind you, this information is yet to be confirmed, but we already know that Nissan is working on a replacement for the 370Z. I am telling you again – the new Nissan Z car will come. For me, this is a huge deal as I really liked the 370Z in its purest, least expensive form. Ignore my emotions from now on as I try to elaborate on what the new Nissan Z car should be. Believe me, so many rumors circulate on the Internet that it is almost impossible to separate right from wrong and truth from deception. In that regard, I am going to give you a rundown of the most logical solutions Nissan may employ for the creation of the new Z car.

Boasting a few upgrades for the new modelyear, the 2019 Nissan Rogue is now on sale across America. The crossover boasts a starting MSRP of $24,800 and comes with new useful equipment. The new stuff make the Rogue an altogether more appealing proposition.

PostHeaderIcon A New Z Car is Officially in the Works

We here at TopSpeed like to think we’re pretty patient. Usually. Sometimes? Look, the point is we’re just about fed up waiting for the new Z car, what with the relatively ancient 370Z model and all its ho-hum special editions Nissan has been dishing out lately. Luckily, it sounds like Nissan heard our cry for something fresh, as it was recently revealed by one of the automaker’s lead designers that a new Z is indeed in development. Like, right now.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Nissan Armada – MSRP and Specs

There are plenty of reasons to pick the 2019 Nissan Armada over the other million full-size SUVs out there. For us, the biggest reason is this car looks badass, especially in black. But for families it could be the fact that it can seat up to 8 people. Others might appreciate the Armada’s powerful V8 engine.

The truth is, as a package the 2019 Nissan Armada (known as Patrol in some markets) is an excellent vehicle. That makes the $46,790 starting price not that high, considering what you receive in return. The 390 horsepower V8 and the 7-speed automatic transmission are standard across the range. Also standard are Intelligent Rear View Mirror (I-RVM)Rear Door Alert (RDA), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW).

Four-wheel-drive, meanwhile, comes only with certain trims. Other notable options include the Driver Package, Premium Package, Pearl White Paint and 2nd row Captain’s Chairs Package. A fully-loaded 2019 Nissan Armada is an expensive car at $65,690, but for families who like travelling great distances with all the members and lots of luggage, it is the ideal vehicle.

2019 Nissan Armada MSRP

Armada SV 4×2 $46,790 USD
Armada SL 4×2 $51,590 USD

PostHeaderIcon Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R V-Spec

The GT-R V-Spec was the range-topping model of the R32-generation Nissan Skyline. Designed for homologation purposes in order for the R32 to compete in Group A racing, the GT-R was upgraded to V-Spec features in 1993. Production ended in 1994 with only a handful of V-Spec models built. Due to its massive success in the Australian Touring Car Championship, the R32 GT-R was nicknamed “Godzilla.”

Launched in 1957 by Prince, the Skyline nameplate started life as a rather common automobile. By 1969, it was sold as a Nissan and spawned a number of higher-performance versions, including the first GT-R model in 1969. The R32 arrived in 1989 when Nissan decided to drop every other body style save for the coupe and sedan. Nissan built almost 300,000 Skylines in five years, but only around 44,000 were GT-Rs. The V-Spec was produced in less than 2,800 units, making it one of the rarest GT-Rs ever. Beyond that, the V-Spec was one of the agilest productions cars on the race track back in its day. Let’s find out more about that in the review below.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Nissan Juke Hits UK Market with Slight Enhancements

As one of the most popular crossovers in the British market, the Nissan Juke has proven its recipe to be a good one. And that is probably why when it came to releasing a new 2019 Nissan Juke they decided to just kind of tweak it instead of twisting it into a new and untested thing.

So you get a sort of nip and tuck styling upgrade with revised front grille, headlights, fog lamps and new wheels, new and interesting colors such as Vivid Blue and Chestnut Bronze, new 16″ wheels and a new Bose Personal Edition grade. How cool your Juke looks really depends on yourself, as you can order 18 inch wheels for the Tekna grade, or go for colored body panels including front and rear bumper finishers, doors side sills and wing mirror caps.

As for the new 2019 Nissan Juke Bose Personal Edition model, well it’s basically what it says on the tin. You get a ‘personal’ Bose sound system offering 360° listening experience with six high performance speakers plus two pioneering BOSE UltraNearfield speakers built into the driver’s seat head rest. For the interior you have the Energy Orange and Power Blue trim colors plus the available gloss black accents on Bose Personal Edition and Tekna grades, plus white-on-black information display and high quality leather steering wheel.

Standard kit on the UK-spec 2019 Nissan Juke includes air-conditioning, electrically adjusting door mirrors, front and rear power windows, CD audio unit with aux port and LED daytime running lights. Acenta grade adds the Nissan Dynamic Control System, front LED fog lamps, cruise control with speed limiter, automatic air-conditioning, privacy glass, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. Bose features NissanConnect infotainment system, Bose Personal sounds system, rear parking camera, Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button start, electrically folding door mirrors, part-leather seats and automatic headlights. And finally Tekna adds to the list Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Around View Monitor and full leather heated front seats.

PostHeaderIcon Nissan Navara N-Guard Launches in the UK

The Brits are not that into custom pickup trucks. Unlike the Americans who use their trucks as personal cars, the English look at as strictly commercial vehicles. Still, for those few how appreciate a cool commercial vehicle there is this new Nissan Navara N-Guard now available to order.

Priced from £28,075 Basic Retail with the Manual gearbox, and £29,525 for the automatic (both before VAT), the 2019 Nissan Navara N-Guard is not a cheap buy. But it does come with some nice upgrades that a hard-core pickup enthusiast would definitely enjoy. On this car the front grille, fog lamp surrounds, mirror covers, door handles and rear bumper are all finished in black, as are side steps and roof rails and the 18-inch wheels. These are then complemented with dark headlights and a sunroof with tinted glass.

Although black is the main theme of Nissan Navara N-Guard, you can order the pickup in Twilight Grey and Storm White as well. You can even have it customized with decals. Inside the cabin you get high quality grey and black trims with yellow accents and stitching. The same design can be found replicated on the door trim and on the new signature floor mats, which feature a geometric design to match the exterior decals.

The choice of engines is limited to just one 2.3 dCi 190 PS engine, but you get extra equipment as standard such as a rear differential locker, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Intelligent Emergency Braking and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

PostHeaderIcon Nissan Sentra – Short Review

As a compact sedan, the Nissan Sentra never was what one may call “popular” among gearheads. Yet, Nissan is eager to improve it, even going so far as to release a spirited Nismo version in the process a few years back. Now, we have the 2019 Nissan Sentra with only a handful of upgrades, most notable of which is the integration of the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all models, save for the entry Sentra S.

PostHeaderIcon 2019 Nissan Sentra US Pricing and Specs

As one of the cheapest cars in America, the Nissan Sentra has always been very low on the desirability charts. But that is not the case with the latest, 2019 Nissan Sentra. Granted, it still does not look particularly amazing, but it’s a feature-rich car and offers excellent value for money.

With a base MSRP of $17,790, the 2019 Nissan Sentra seems to be a compelling choice for female drivers or college students of both genders who want an affordable, reliable and well-equipped first car. The base S model, it has to be said, is a bit lean on options, but if you spend just over 20 grand you can get the Sentra SR which comes with great features including 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), power sliding glass moonroof with tilt feature, center room dim lamp (LED), dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors and Special Edition badge.

Also, all 2019 Nissan Sentra models except for the basic S model get standard NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Powering the new Sentra is a 124-horsepower 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to an advanced Xtronic transmission, with a 6-speed manual option for lower grades. There is also a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIGÔ) turbocharged engine with 188 horsepower which is properly hot and is featured only on Sentra SR Turbo and Sentra NISMO. Available safety features for the 2019 Sentra include Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) (standard on Xtronic transmission-equipped models except Sentra NISMO) and available Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Model Engine/Transmission MSRP
Sentra S 1.8-liter 6MT $17,790 USD
Sentra S 1.8-liter Xtronic $18,480 USD

has been roaming the earth and its darker corners for more than ten years. Considering that the usual life cycle for a car is six or seven years at the most, the R35 GT-R is overdue for a successor. It shows too. The car itself cannot find more than 50 or 60 new buyers each month in the U.S. Things are not looking much better in Japan either, however, Nissan doesn’t seem to be in a rush to reveal a replacement. Latest rumors from the company suggest we will see the next-gen R36 Nissan GT-R
sometime in the early 2020s. The car is apparently on the drawing boards, with the engineers now doing their magic to contemplate what the new Nissan design boss Alfonso Albaisa called “the fastest super sports car in the world.”

The current Nissan GT-R has been around for quite some time now, and it’s in dire need of replacement. Just like the current generation, a concept of the next-gen will arrive before the actual production car. However, the new car won’t borrow styling cues from the Italdesign’s GT-R50 show car. Now, that’s a surprising move!

They say that technologies are making us stupid, and now we know what they’re talking about. There is a new trend going on among car makers as they are trying to make the Rear Door Alert system a thing. Nissan has now upped the game announcing that they will offer this feature as standard on all four-door models by 2022.

The Rear Door Alert is a useful feature to have if you are kind of, well, thick. It sounds the horn and flashes messages on the center instrument panel is you get out of the car and leave something in the backseats. Of course, we have all done that, but a few seconds later remembered and went back to get the item we had forgotten. So this fancy and much-publicized feature is designed to potentially save 20 seconds for you. Thank you, Nissan.

That said, we suppose Nissan’s Rear Door Alert is a good feature for the Americans to have, because we often read in the news they sometimes forget their kids in the backseat. What such technologies do to you, though, is to further dull a mind that has already been sanded smooth by the smartphones and Netflix and Instagram. If you rely on your own brain, you may get things wrong a few times, but at least you exercise it, keep it in workable order.

“I’m proud to see Nissan lead the way by making Rear Door Alert standard on more models,” said Marlene Mendoza, a mechanical engineer who helped create the technology. “What started as a chat with my colleague, Elsa Foley, is now innovative technology being adopted in more Nissan models. It is a testament to Nissan’s culture.”
