PostHeaderIcon Pagani Huayra Gyrfalcon

Pagani dropped a surprise at “The Quail — A Motorsport Gathering” event over the weekend when it unveiled the latest special edition Huayra Roadster, called the Gyrfalcon. Named after the White Gyrfalcon, the largest of all falcon species, the Huayra Roadster lives up to its namesake with a color scheme that matches the majestic colors of the bird of prey. The Pagani Huayra Gyrfalcon is a one-off model, and there’s a good chance that it already has an owner.

PostHeaderIcon Video: Another Look at the Pagani Huayra L’Ultimo

The final Pagani Huayra just arrived stateside, and car fans are drooling over its custom body and interior treatment. Dubbed the L’Ultimo edition, the Pagani is currently on display at Prestige Imports in Miami, Florida, and exotics fan/YouTube personality Mario Vergel decided to check it out for himself. This is what he found.

The video is 6 minutes, 33 seconds in length, and includes shots of several other supercars and sports cars, including the Porsche GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT4, LaFerrari, Bugatti Veyron, Porsche 918 Spyder, and of course, Vergel’s BMW M3. However, if you just wanna jump straight to the Pagani, skip ahead to the 4-minute, 39-second mark.

The video gives us a glimpse off the Italian monster in full HD as it spins on its pedestal, showing the goods from just about every angle.

For those of you who may be unaware, the L’Ultimo is an extremely limited edition of the supercar – in fact, it’s a one-off model that was custom built for one lucky Pagani customer. Continue reading to learn more about it.

PostHeaderIcon All Pagani Huayra BC And Huayra Roadster in America Are Being Recalled

Recalls happen all the time in the auto industry. What’s rare is when the automaker that’s doing the recall is a niche Italian supercar brand that’s known more for building some of the most gorgeous cars on the planet. But alas, strange things happen in this strange business, which is why, of all auto brands in the world, Pagani is recalling all 2017 MY Huayra BC and Huayra Roadster supercars in the U.S. All 16 of them.

PostHeaderIcon Because Supercars Aren’t Enough, Pagani Just Invented Its Own Fabric

Pagani is known as an Italian automaker that’s responsible for giving us the Zonda and Huayra supercars. Now, it’s taking its influence to a new level with what’s called the Pagani Fabric, a new and innovative material that was created through a combination of technical fabric and high elastic modulus carbon fiber components. In other words, it’s a sophisticated material that Pagani plans to use as the soft top roof of the Huayra Roadster.

“The two brands wanted to create an innovative and sophisticated soft top roof that can be used on the Huayra Roadster.”

The creation of this new material didn’t just happen overnight for Pagani. It worked tirelessly at it, and it even had help from Italian motorcycle protective gear company, Dainese. Together, the two brands wanted to create an innovative and sophisticated soft top roof that can be used on the Huayra Roadster.

The process of creating didn’t come easy either, something Pagani founder Horacio Pagani explained in a press release. “Creating the reserve soft top for the Huayra Roadster was a real technical challenge,” Pagani said. “Our goal was to provide customers with a folding roof solution, one that takes up minimal space when stored in the car. The soft top was conceived as a lightweight, resistant tenso-structure, in which every single element contributes to carrying out the overall function through tension.”

Because Supercars Aren't Enough, Pagani Just Invented Its Own Fabric - image 773125
“The result of the collaboration between Pagani and Dainese is a fabric that has predetermined folding areas that allow the fabric to follow the folds of the structure when the roof is closed”

The result of the collaboration between Pagani and Dainese is a fabric that has predetermined folding areas that allow the fabric to follow the folds of the structure when the roof is closed. According to Pagani, this material not only ensures minimal storage space but, more importantly, it’s durable enough that the fabric won’t suffer from any wear and tear over a long period of time.

For now, Pagani plans to use the material on the Huayra Roadster, which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year. It’s fitting, then, that the automaker is returning to Geneva this year to showcase the fabric on a Huayra Roadster. Moving forward, Pagani plans to use the Fabric on future open-top supercars that it builds. Considering how many one-off models it also builds for specific customers all over the world, don’t be surprised if the fabric starts popping up often.

BMW i8 Dodge Charger

Halloween may have come and gone, but it’s never too late to explore the weird, the bizarre, and the downright frightening things that go bump in the night. If you’ve got the nerve, then we challenge you to look through these utterly profane vehicle renderings, courtesy of the good folks from Click Mechanic. Truth be told, no one is safe from the following strange creations – hybrids, muscle cars, imports, supercars, trucks, and even tractors get tossed into the blender with these seven unholy car mashups.

Call it madness, call it lunacy, call it outlandish… truth be told, we simply can’t look away! Hell, we’d actually argue that some of these creations are a bit, well, awesome (no, seriously). Either way, this is what happens when you give rendering artists free reign to mix and match from across the automotive spectrum. Naturally, we wanna know – which is these shocking mashups stands out the most to you? Let us know in the comments!

Kicking things off, we got two wildly different takes on what it means to be fast. On one side, we’ve got the hybrid-powered BMW i8, a cutting-edge, CFRP-laden spaceship, while on the other side, we’ve got the old school muscle legend that is the Dodge Charger. I guess this is what happens when you put them together, complete with laser headlights and topped by a massive blower. It’s like a sustainable flamethrower, or an eco-conscious chainsaw. Wait, what?!

Bugatti Chiron and Volkswagen Beetle

Click Mechanic Renders 7 Utterly Bizarre Car Mashups - image 743947

Originally created as a vehicle for the people, the VW bug was about simplicity and low cost, offered as a modest approach to moving from A to B. Then we have the 1,500-horsepower, ultra-complex, quad-turbo Bugatti Chiron, a rolling statement of wealth and prestige that screams for attention. Talk about opposites, and yet, the pieces seem to fit together quite nicely here…

Pagani Huayra and First-Generation Chevrolet Camaro

Click Mechanic Renders 7 Utterly Bizarre Car Mashups - image 743948

Now this one is just flat out weird. We never, in a million billion years, would have thought about infusing the gorgeous top-shelf Italian styling of the Pagani Huayra with the good-old-boy chic of the original Chevy Camaro. This thing is an abomination, no doubt about it, and yet, we can’t look away. The flat black paint, the chrome trim, the mid-engine proportions, the polished hubcaps… would you call us crazy if we admitted to thinking this thing actually, kinda… works?! Yes, you would? Fair enough.

Nissan GT-R And Nissan Juke

If you ask us, this is the kind of machine that would manage to simultaneously make your little niece squeal with delight over its cuteness, then go off and rip your dedicated sports car to shreds on the track. The body shape says Juke, while that front end and rear wing are pure GT-R. Maybe we shouldn’t give Nissan any ideas – after all, the 485-horse Juke-R is already a thing, so we know this mashup isn’t a total impossibility.

Ford GT and Ford Raptor

Click Mechanic Renders 7 Utterly Bizarre Car Mashups - image 743950

We know the Blue Oval has a variety of vehicles at its disposal when it comes to going fast. Wanna smash the local lap record? Climb aboard the Ford GT, a carbon fiber supercar made for domination at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. What about flying over rough terrain? In that case, saddle up in the Ford Raptor, an off-road specialist ready to conquer the rough stuff and all of Mother Nature. But what if you wanna do both?

Lamborghini Aventador and Lamborghini Tractor

Click Mechanic Renders 7 Utterly Bizarre Car Mashups - image 743951

Believe it or not, Lambo was originally a manufacturer of farm equipment before it branched off into making high-dollar exotics. In fact, the Italian marque is still making tractors today as Lamborghini Trattori. So then, the above is what you get when you do a little inter-company cross-pollination. All we see is the perfect conveyance for ripping mean four-wheel drifts across freshly plowed fields.

Ferrari LaFerrari and Fiat Multipla

Take the jaw-dropping body of the Ferrari squared, then plop a dollop of Fiat MPV in the middle, and this is the result. Yikes. At least it’s one of the more, eh, practical Prancing Horses we’ve seen. Right? Maybe?!

PostHeaderIcon Watch the 2018 Pagani Huayra BC Blast Around A Racetrack

Pagani has a rich history over its relatively short lifespan. When the Zonda debuted in 1999, it sent shockwaves up Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and everybody else’s spine. Now nearly 20 years later, the Huayra is the darling of this small Italian automaker. But some say the Huayra needed more soul.

Enter: the Huayra BC – a car so sharpened beyond the original that Motor Trend’s new host, Jethro Bovingdon, suggests its basically a new product. The BC’s body is made from titanium-reinforced carbon fiber, a material that’s not only stronger but lighter, helping the car shed 291 pounds. The BC only tips the scales at 2,685 pounds. And then there’s the engine. The AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 makes 60 more horsepower for a total 753 at 6,200 rpm and 811 pound-feet of torque at only 1,000 rpm! The power is managed by a revised seven-speed, auto-clutch manual transaxle hanging off the mid-mounted engine. Naturally, power is sent only to the rear wheels as God and Pagani intended.

Well, Bovingdon is no stranger to driving high-horsepower missiles around a track, so his commentary on the BC is rather telling. The video is an incredibly fun and educational watch, especially since it’s filmed inside Pagani’s headquarters and assembly room in San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy, just outside Modena. And don’t forget to check out TopSpeed’s coverage of the Pagani Zonda, Huayra, and Huayra BC.

PostHeaderIcon Pagani Huayra Americano

Say Hello to the Pagani Huayra Americano

From the automaker that has turned one-off creations into something of a business in of itself, Pagani is back at it again with yet another exclusive creation. It’s called the Pagani Huayra Americano, and it’s actually here in the U.S., specifically at Pagani’s own dealership in Newport Beach, California. Even better; it’s actually for sale, though like most one-off Paganis, the price for this exclusive Huayra is on a need-to-know basis.

Pagani Newport didn’t disclose too many details about the Huayra Americana, saying only that it was delivered in the latter half of 2016 and only has 488 miles on its odometer. It’s also stock #0019 and carries the VIN ZFGK58739Kl09300L. There’s no price tag on the car, but that’s to be expected considering that this is a one-off model that underwent a lot of custom touches to validate its name. Regardless of what new digs are in the car, don’t expect it to come cheap. For one, those 488 miles are close enough to be considered new. Then there’s the prestige and exclusivity that comes with being an owner of a true one-off Pagani Huayra. All that considered, expect this car to fetch north of $2 million at the very least.

What makes the Pagani Huayra Americano special

2017 Pagani Huayra Americano - image 737187
“Expect this car to fetch north of $2 million at the very least.”

It’s special enough by virtue of its one-off status. Actually, “special” isn’t even the word I’d use to describe the Huayra Americano, or any of the other one-off Zondas and Huayras that Pagani has created over the years, for that matter.

I’ll stick with that one for now though because the Huayra Americano features plenty of new and exclusive features, beginning with an exterior that’s dressed up in a Grigio Clement body finish. That translates to a two-tone look made up of a silver body and black carbon fiber on the hood and roof of the car. Red striping can also be found on the carbon fiber, running from the tip of the Huayra’s nose all the way to the back, right on top of the quad exhaust tailpipes. Multi-spoke black wheels and red brake calipers complete the exterior styling of the Americano. It’s not the fanciest color scheme among all of the one-off Paganis we’ve seen, but it certainly captures your attention, especially when it’s all polished up like how it is in the photos.

2017 Pagani Huayra Americano - image 737186

2017 Pagani Huayra Americano - image 737189
“The seats are dressed in black and red leather while the abundance of carbon fiber takes a completely different meaning by how much the lightweight material is present throughout the interior”

Step inside of the car and the interior follows a similar color treatment. The seats are dressed in black and red leather while the abundance of carbon fiber takes a completely different meaning by how much the lightweight material is present throughout the interior. Likewise, the detailing on the center console is one of its defining qualities, specifically the black and red leather surround that helps add plenty of styling depth to this particular area of the interior. Last, but certainly not least, is the presence of a plaque on the firewall section of the cabin, indicating that this particular Huayra is actually model number 68 out of the 100 of its kind that Pagani built.

Overall, it’s a solid creation from Pagani, though it’s probably not my favorite among the one-off creations that Pagani has created. I took my time choosing which one tops my list, but in the end, I chose the Huayra Vulcan that the automaker launched back in December 2015.

Pagani Huayra Vulcan

2015 Pagani Huayra Project Vulcan - image 658925

It’s not just because of the name although, if I’m being honest, it did play a big part in giving this one-off Huayra an identity of its own. The supercar’s exterior is particularly revealing, especially the approach Pagani took in giving it the one-off look. Chief among these features is the use of black and silver gunmetal metallic exposed carbon-fiber, a first of its kind for the Pagani Huayra.

Meanwhile, the Huayra Vulcan’s interior is a picture of vividness. Most of the surfaces inside, including the steering wheel, carry the same shade of bright red as the wheels. The result is a fiery look to the interior that does justice to its Vulcan name. Remember, Vulcan isn’t a race of people in the Star Trek universe. It’s actually the name of the Roman god of fire. Seems like a car that Vulcan would want to be caught driving in, wouldn’t you think?

PostHeaderIcon Pagani Huayra Tempesta

Pagani has been known to create some pretty wild vehicles. I mean look at models like the Zonda Revolucion and the Huayra BC, for example. They are clearly two of the wildest machines created, but now Pagani is stepping things up for the Huayra coupe with a new package. Dubbed the Pacchetto Tempesta, the kit is offered as an option on new Huayra models or as a retrofit for those of you who already own a Huayra.

This new package comes with aerodynamic enhancements as well as a few other upgrades that will help improve the car’s handling and driving characteristics. According to Pagani, the kit provides “more responsive behavior,” and reduced body roll and pitch, providing a “sporty yet comfortable driving experience.”

The real shocker about the whole Pacchetto Tempesta’ package is the invoice that comes with it. With a price tag of €160,000, or about $182,480 at current conversion rates. So, for the price of this upgrade kit, you could get yourself a new McLaren 540C or even a new Porsche 911. So, with a price that high, let’s take a good look at the kit and see what makes it worth that much money.

Updated 08/23/2017: We added a series of images taken during the car’s auction at the 2017 Monterey Car Week where it was sold for
$2,420,000.

Davide Testi, the buffed, tattooed, and extremely cool chief test driver for Pagani Automobili, has released a couple of photos of a new Pagani Huayra prototype with hashtags ‘new project’ and ‘my baby’. And that’s all the info currently available on this, well, baby.

That said, the pictures Mr. Testi has published reveal a few crucial facts about the this new Pagani Huayra variant. The first thing you notice is the two big holes in the roof, from which one can stick one’s head out white reversing, as elegantly demonstrated by Davide. And the first thing you think of seeing these holes is, of course, Huayra Targa. That could be what this prototype is, a logical follow-up to the Roadster model, or it could all be a massive diversion.

The mysterious Pagani Huayra prototype shown to us here also features an unusually large bulge on its bonnet, something that makes the whole thing look weird and ungainly. But it’s well hidden under cover and may not even something with production significance. Still, it makes us thing whether this baby is the long-awaited hard-core Hauyra about which there used to be a lot of speculations. Of course, another possibility is that the car, which also features a new engine cover and no wing at this stage, could be a one-off, bespoke, coachbuilt Hauyra for some incredibly important person.

Guess we have to wait to find out. Stay tuned y’all!

Pagani Huayra BC Macchina Volante

You may have heard of Kris Singh, a Miami-based businessman with a penchant for super rare, super expensive cars. You may have seen his Lamborghini Veneno and Pagani Huayra La Monza Lisa. And if those things haven’t been enough to make you jealous, check out the man’s latest acquisition, the unique Pagani Huayra BC Macchina Volante.

This car is so special on so many different levels, one doesn’t know where to begin. For starters, it’s a Pagani Huayra which is the automotive equivalent of Faberge egg. Then we have that little ‘BC’ at the end of the name, which means it’s a limited edition – with only 20 units being produced – with unique features and design. Last but not least there is the Macchina Volante part which is what truly set this hyper machine apart. Meaning Flying Machine in Italian, the name is a tribute to one of Horacio Pagani’s heroes, Leonardo da Vinci who, as you know, was obsessed with machines and flight.

Mechanically, the black and blue Pagani Huayra BC Macchina Volante is a standard BC which means it packs a track-tuned engine and chassis with over 800 horsepower and a 7-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) plus an electronic differential. THe BC also comes with all new tripod axle drive shafts, derived from the world of Le Mans racing, suspension components forged from HiForg, a lightweight aeronautic aluminium alloy of exceptionally high strength, CCM (carbon-ceramic) braking system, and many other cool stuff.

PostHeaderIcon What Are The Craziest Supercar Interiors That Money Can Buy?

We’re gonna be honest here – supercars are just getting ridiculous these days. Let’s start with the performance. We left the 200-mph barrier a long time ago, and the tip-top shelf performance vehicles these days are pushing ever closer to 300 mph thanks to absurd four-figure power numbers, advanced aerodynamics, and spaceship composites under (and over) the skin. Or you could talk about the cost – if you’ve got the connections and the bankroll, it’s not all that difficult to spend millions and millions on just one of these machines. Indeed, the term supercar has taken on new meaning over the past couple years, and that includes evolved cabins to match the insane spec sheets. To celebrate that fact, we’ve assembled the top five craziest supercar interiors that money can buy, right here for your reading and viewing pleasure.

Over the top is a gross understatement when it comes to the following five cars. These things offer levels of opulence usually reserved for mansions, accomplishing the dual goals of looking good and going fast thanks to next-level design, materials, and execution.

Some of them are beautiful, some of them are weird, but all of them are insane in their own special kind of way. Which would you prefer? Or better yet, did we fail to include a crazy supercar interior that tops these five? Let us know in the comments section.

PostHeaderIcon You Can Now Configure The Pagani Huayra Roadster Of Your Dreams

As expected, the Pagani Huayra Roadster made a heck of an impression at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. It came with a revised design that featured, among other things, a new fascia, two removable roof panels, and nacelles behind each seat. It also featured a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 6.0-liter biturbo V-12 engine that pumps out 752 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Most of all, even with the Roadster configuration, it still managed to shed off 176 pounds compared to the coupe, thanks in large part to the abundance of carbon fiber and titanium used in the car. Knowing all of this makes the Huayra Roadster a must-have supercar. And no more is that true than with Pagani’s claim that all 100 units of the supercar are already spoken for, leaving the rest of us peasants with nothing more than an online configurator to turn our dreams of owning one into (virtual) reality.

On the contrary, the online configurator is actually a very good thing, because not a lot of us have $2.4 million to spend on the car. Luckily the alternative is rather fun, especially since it costs about as much as the oxygen that you’re inhaling right now.

Like most online configurators, the one for the Huayra Roadster is easy to navigate. You can pick from as many as 20 different color schemes, each having its own appeal. There’s also a choice of four different wheels and three interior trims, all of which you can mix and match to create the Huayra Roadster of your dreams.

Apparently, Pagani even keeps track of those who play with the online configurator, ranking the combinations that were used depending on popularity. At the moment, everybody seems to be on the hook for the Blu Francia-colored Huayra Roadster, which occupies the top four spots in the leaderboard of sorts. That’s hardly a surprising turn of events because it’s the same color Pagani used on the press shots of the supercar. The top combination not only makes use of the Blue Francia paint, but it also comes with Transparent Black Mamba gloss exterior, Black alloy wheels, and a Black interior trim.

Are you in favor of this combination for the Huayra Roadster, or are you digging the convertible supercar in another garb? Go to the online configurator and find out.

Huayra_Roadster_head

So after a number of painfully exciting teaser, Horacio Pagani of Pagani Automobili green-lighted the online debut of his latest and finest creation, the Pagani Huayra Roadster. The drop top version of the Huayra hard top has been the most challenging project ever undertaken by the prestigious car maker which, of course, means there is a lot more to this car than just a removable carbon top in place of the regular roof.

Pagani Huayra Roadster was designed and built using “La Bellezza” philosophy which in its essence means a beautiful balance between art and science. And that is what this car is. It is technically brilliant and aesthetically pleasing, and it also has that unique quality that you can’t put your finger on but know that it’s present, and that is what makes it a piece of art. Well, that and all the exotic material used in making it such as carbon and titanium and glass (in the removable roof) and of course the leather adorning the interior.

The first hyper roadster to be lighter than its coupe sister, the Pagani Huayra Roadster is a serious performance machine with track tune suspension and such taut chassis and aerodynamic properties that enables it to pull 1.8 Gs. The topless hyper machine shares its twin-turbo V12 AMG-built engine with other Huayra models, but here it makes 764 horsepower and over a 1,000 Nm of torque, which is enough to wreak havoc on the sturdiest of toupees. We should mention the Huayra comes with two roof options, one a lightweight carbon arrangement with a glass bit in the middle and a fabric and carbon cover which is a bit of a faff to erect but delightfully vintage looking when it’s up.

Pagani Huayra Roadster is limited to 100 copies, all of which have already been sold at an undisclosed but undoubtedly dear price. You will find the technical specs of the car below…

PostHeaderIcon Pagani Huayra Roadster

Pagani debuted the Huayra in 2012 as the replacement for the aging Zonda, despite the fact that the manufacturer continued to roll out special edition Zondas through 2014. The Huayra name may sound odd at first, but it is based on the God of the wind, Wayra Tata, from the era of the Inca empire. The Huayra coupe was limited to only 100 units and has been sold out since 2015, but since then, Pagani has launched the hardcore BC version and a handful of unique, bespoke models. In 2017, Pagani introduced the Huayra Roadster, a drop-top with bespoke chassis and features.

Reports of a roadster version started circulating shortly after the coupe debuted, with initial reports claiming a release was planned for 2016. That obviously didn’t happen, but the Italian firm confirmed that the open-top supercar will make its global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March. Come February and the Huayra Roadster unveiled itself to the world.

Unlike other supercars in this expensive niche, the Huayra Roadster isn’t just a hacked-up coupe. Instead, the Italian manufacturer prepared a healthy power increase, made it lighter than the coupe, and gave it a revised chassis with bespoke settings. Granted, the Huayra is already expensive, so it’s only natural to ask yourself whether the Roadster is awesome enough to warrant its massive price tag? Find out more about that in the review below.

PostHeaderIcon Is Pagani Calling Its Shot On A New Nürburgring Lap Record?

Nine years ago, Pagani stormed the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Zonda F, chassis #58, and proceeded to set the 12.9-mile lap record with a time of 7:27.82. The Zonda F’s record has since been broken a number of times, but after close to a decade of slumber, Pagani appears to be preparing for another run at the track’s lap record. The Italian automaker didn’t specifically say its intentions, but a post on its official Facebook account seems to indicate that a return to the ‘Ring for a crack at that record is imminent. Naturally, we’re all losing our minds because of what that could mean.

Pagan concluded its post with the always annoying “to be continued” disclaimer so there’s not much to go by on what the automaker’s intentions are. If it does end up vying for the lap record, the natural candidate to make that attempt is the Huayra BC, the ultra exclusive, 20-unit special edition version of the Huayra that Pagani only offered to existing owners of the Huayra.

For the record, the Huayra will likely aim for the record set by the Marc Lieb and the Porsche 918 Spyder when it blitzed the track in just six minutes and 57 seconds back on September 4, 2013. The 918 Spyder’s lap time is regarded as a the fastest lap for a road legal car, but if the Huayra BC really wants to earn that undisputed label that has eluded the 918 Spyder, it should in fact shoot for the six-minute and 48-second lap time set by Michael Vergers and the Radical SR8 LM back on August 2009. The SR8 LM’s status as a non-road-legal car in some parts of the world has prevented it from staking the claim as the fastest road-legal car around the ‘Ring.

The Huayra BC can render all the debate irrelevant if it does cross the line faster than the SR8 LM. Or it could really break the Internet if it eclipses the all-time record set in May 1983 by Stefan Bellof in a Porsche 956 race car. He clocked in a time of six minutes and 11 seconds, which remains the fastest lap anyone has ever gone around the 12.9-mile track.

Expect Pagani to reveal more details about what that Facebook message means, but from the way the company phrased the whole thing – it even added a video of the Zonda F’s lap record back in 2007 – I’m willing to call the automaker’s shot and say it’s gunning for road-legal lap record around the ‘Ring.

That, or it’s done it already and Pagani’s just teasing us about it. The Huayra BCA, after all, was spotted in the Nürburgring doing some test laps recently. The drama is building up already.

PostHeaderIcon Pagani Huayra Pearl

Pagani is a young automaker that has only been around for 24 years. For most of that time, its primary production model was the Zonda. Before the Zonda was officially killed off, the brand had begun working on the Pagani Huayra, or the C9, as it was known in the Pagani design studio. The original Huayra came to be in 2011, but we weren’t graced with the Huayra BC until 2016. In between, Pagani released a number of special edition models like the Huayra White Edition, Huayra Carbon Edition, and the Huayra Project Vulcan, among others.

Now, Pagani has designed another one-off Huayra, but this time, it was built specifically for a customer of Refined Marque – an exotic car dealership that specializes in sourcing, supplying, and purchasing the world’s most exotic cars. The new Huayra is called the Huayra Pearl, and it represents a combination of everything Pagani has learned over the years. The car itself even has a few strands of DNA from the Huayra BC and the Zonda R.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a whole lot of specifics about the Huayra Pearl. But, now that you know its origins and purpose, let’s take a closer look at it. Maybe we can make out a few things that help to make it so special.

PostHeaderIcon Pagani Teases Mystery Huayra: Video

It’s been less than a month since Pagani introduced the hardcore Huayra BC at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, and the Italian supercar maker is already working on a new iteration of its AMG-powered machine. The news comes straight from Pagani itself, which just released a 30-second video teaser through its official YouTube channel. And, while the clip doesn’t reveal much about this upcoming model, it’s intriguing to say the least.

We already know that Pagani is preparing a roadster version of the sold-out coupe, but we’re 100-percent sure that the model in the teaser is something different. First, because the supercar appears to sport a hood scoop, which can’t be fitted on a convertible and would make for an awkward design on a targa. Second, Pagani says the vehicle was crafted for Refined Marques, a British supercar dealer known for selling Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti models, among products from other brands.

That being said, this could very well be a bespoke Huayra that’s either based on the BC or built to a new configuration. The fact that the standard Huayra is already sold out makes a good case for this scenario. Then there’s the roof scoop, which is a novelty for the Huayra and an element Pagani previously offered on track-only supercars such as the Zonda R. That’s not to say Horacio is necessarily working on a race-ready Huayra, but whatever this is, it should sit atop the Huayra BC in terms of power and aerodynamics.

All we can do for now is wait for more details, but the massive amount of carbon-fiber and the “transparent” blue shown in the teaser suggest that something really exciting is on the way.
